Ct/Pet Scan again

Well, I got the results back from the latest Ct/Pet Scan taken after Christmas. It was perfectly clear and absolutely no sign of cancer. So, I have been clear since August 2010. I feel set free! It' a wonderful feeling. It's so nice to have energy, health, and the ability to go forward with my life. I enjoy serving my family and others, spending time with my dear husband, organizing the house and planning for the future. I love going for bike rides and walks and the list goes on and on. I feel like Scrooge when he sang the words, "I love life, life loves me."
Yesterday, I baked bread, made pizza, and watched my darling grandson. Today, Larry and I put away Christmas and further organized the garage, went shopping and prepared for the Sabbath. It was fun to have the tree up so long. We actually wanted to keep it up until the Wise men came...like our Mexican friends do. I got some some gifts too!

Christmas

I love Christmas time! It's my favorite time of year...singing the beautiful Christmas Carols, being around family and friends more, studying more deeply about the life of Jesus in the New Testament...seeing the shiny lights and all the service and giving that makes Christmas so magical!

The most wonderful gift ever given is the gift of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus has saved my soul from sin and from pain and sickness and I will forever be in debt to him. God truly loves all of us so much that "He sent His Son," to rescue us. We are all on a journey to find true peace and happiness and I know that it is only found through Jesus Christ. Just like the Wisemen of old, we can follow the light of gospel truth and find Jesus. But, when we find Him, we don't find the little baby or child, we find the risen Lord. The greatest miracle ever is the atonement of Jesus, when he suffered for our pains, sorrows, illnesses, and sins, died on the cross and was resurrected! Because of this, we can each be cleansed and dwell with Him someday.

It is through Jesus Christ that I have been healed. He is the "Great healer" and can work through inspired men and women on earth to assist Him in His work. He reaches out to each of us and desires to heal us in His own time and way.

Last night, Channel 3 News did a feature story on Dr. Burzynski. My husband, our son Thomas and I were all interviewed a couple of weeks ago. Last night I received an email from a dear woman up in Flagstaff whose son has Mantle Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma like I did. I called her back and we talked. She is a very determined woman who has great faith and deep love for her only son. He's in his early 30's, and has kids. She had watched the news and somehow found my email address. She has passed on the info to her son and felt it was an answer to her prayers.
Channel 3 is doing a wonderful job...and they are very brave to share the truth on the air. I'm going to watch their news station more often because they are open minded and are good people.
Even if the news clip can help one person get over cancer then it was worth it. Again, I am sooo grateful to be well and cancer free!! I want to do all I can to spread the word about Dr. Burzynski and how he is doing a great work in helping to cure cancer.

Fractured leg

Ouch! Yesterday I fractured my fibula bone, near my ankle. Oh well.
So, I'm on crutches, using a wheel chair and also a scooter. I'm all equipped. I was at Maria's house coming down her stairs and I missed a step or two and hit the tile really hard. I should have taken off my glasses because the bottom part of the lens is about 300 and used for reading....and I couldn't see well. Anyway, I was fine for about 4 hours until something must have cracked. I was at Michaels' getting some ornaments and I was suddenly in severe pain. I hopped around looking for a basket, bought my items while on one leg and hopped out to the car. I couldn't drive with my right foot. I was in excruciating pain driving along with my left foot. I hopped into the house and then crawled to the couch. I called Larry. Yeah for Larry. He came to the rescue and brought me to the doctor. Now I am wearing a removable cast up to my knee. It could take up to 8 weeks to heal. Another trial. I'm so glad that my house is all decorated and the tree is up. I wish it wouldn't have happened and I will be more careful in the future. But....come what may and love it!

Thanksgiving 2011

What a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!
We had all of our children here and their families. the meal was yummy...everyone helped out!
The weather was perfect. We enjoyed making Ginger bread houses and Christmas trains together. The adults ate a delicious dinner on Friday at Mi Amigos and then went to a play "It's a Wonderful Life." On Saturday we had our pictures taken at Brandt Studio and he is amazing. It was so fun and I'm so excited to see the pictures. He is so entertaining and makes you laugh. The picture is our gift for Christmas from Aaron and Andrea. I can't wait to get it on our wall.

On Sunday, Larry and I spoke in church on Gratitude and it was so special to have all of our family in attendance as well as Larry's father. We spoke on the miracles in our lives. How I was healed of cancer and how Larry was healed of diabetes. The Lord has been so merciful to us and extended our lives. We are eternally indebted to Him. I am so thankful for prayer and the Spirit that directs our lives.
We got the 2 families off to Utah after church and sent with them their Christmas packages. That will save us money not having to mail them.
They texted us last night saying they arrived safely. Yeah!!

We've got the Christmas tree up and today we'll finish the lights and the decorating.....hopefully.
I'm so happy that I am feeling great and can enjoy my family. Health is so important and I love spending time with my children, their spouses and my grandchildren.
(and husband of course!)

Good news...Christina is pregnant and they are expecting in August. They will have three kids under the age of 2. (at least for a month before Craig turns 3) Crazy huh. But I'm excited.
So, with Aaron and Andrea's son coming in January, that will be 16 grand kids. Wow.

Scan Results

In case anyone wants to know about my last ct/pet scan results dating 11/2/2011 they are posted below.

1. There are no changes since the prior study.
2. There is no abnormal hypermetablolic activity present from the neck down to the pelvic region to suggest the presence of any metabolically active metastatic disease.

I am so happy that I am well and have been in remission since 8/2010. I'm very blessed and am enjoying life sooo very much!!!

Ct/Pet Scan today

I'm finally feeling really good after my operation. It's so nice.
Today I have my 6 month ct/pet scan to check for tumors.
I'm fasting and get to have the glucose injection then wait in a chair for 45 minutes before getting to ride on the bed that goes under the big machine with the doughnut like hole. I put my arms up while I ride in and out of this hole. By the time they are done my arms are slightly numb. They try to make me as comfortable as possible. They will be looking for abnormal metabolic activity. In the past they have checked me every 3 months. I have my appointment with Dr. Kellogg on Thursday to find out the results.

Spoiled

I feel spoiled by my friends and family. The other night, my son, Aaron, and his wife and four kids showed up at the door with cleaning supplies and a vaccuum, broom, mop, etc. They scoured the house... and it really needed it. It was soooo nice of them. I was really touched by their love. Also, Maria, brought in delicious homemade bread today. The other family members are kind and loving as well and do what they can. So, as you can see, I am spoiled.

Also, my friends have been there as well. We had another delicious dinner last night and a girlfriend helped me with my ipod and downloaded new music onto it for me.
I feel like I'm bragging. I hope not.

It was wonderful to have Larry's father over tonight for dinner. He brings a special feeling into our home and I admire him very much.

I feel much better today than yesterday.

I had my operation this week and am in pain. I'm resting most of the time. Many kind people are bringing in meals. My dear family members have called, brought cards, flowers, and love. Larry is being very helpful as well. Thomas is sick and so is his girlfriend, so I am playing keep away and trying to stay in the bedroom most of the time. I am wearing a mask as I'm typing.
Life is good and I will continue to heal. Thank you to all that are there for me.

I still feel great and yet am still taking the Burzynski Pills for a while longer.

In two weeks I will be having an operation and will be down for 6 weeks.

It has nothing to do with cancer....it's a partial hysterectomy that I've needed for

some time.

I feel really good about getting it done, and have an excellent doctor.

This week is filled with lots of family events and celebrations!! Life is good!

Great Family

I sure do love my family. Recently Larry and I (and our grand daughter) went to Utah and visited Jonathan and Carrie and their family. Joseph and Christina and their kids also were there with us. We had so much fun. I can't even name everything we did together. We had some fun times and made great memories. A few things we did are:
We went to "This is the Place Monument, had a picnic, panned for gold, rode ponies, went to the 24th of July parade in Ogden and saw the Rapunzel float and the tractors...it was a great parade. Then we went to the Golden Spike and saw the train, also to ATK and saw where they made the rockets, visited with the Parkers and had a delicious barbecue and good visiting with them.....and also went to Salt Lake Temple Square and saw the Christus statue and learned about the prophets that have lived on this earth throughout history. (And more things)
We missed being with all of our family....but today we saw the rest of them here in Arizona. Aaron and Andrea had us all over for dinner and we enjoyed homemade chile re llanos and empanadas and a complete Mexican meal. We had a great time watching Thomas' mission pictures on TV and hearing him tell about his mission to Washington State.
I'm just so grateful for a loving family and for the spouses of our children. Also, we have 14 darling grandchildren that are very loving and smart.
I have so many blessings. I love my husband very much and he loves me. What else can I ask for?

Doctor's comments

Yesterday I went to my oncologist for a 3 month checkup. He said that there is no sign of the tumors returning and that the blood work looked good. Upon leaving he pointed up to Heaven and said that he attributes my healing to God. He knows that it is a miracle and he didn't want to take the credit for it. He and Dr. Burzynski have simply been tools in God's hands. I'm so grateful for my doctors. I believe in miracles!

Random things that make me smile

Our chihuahua had 6 adorable puppies and we finally sold them all except the one that no body wanted. She was the only girl with the 5 brothers. She has an under bite and lots of freckles. We are keeping her and think she is special. Her name is Princess Freckles. Cookie and Princess are happy together and we love both of them. (It was hard to give up the other puppies though)

I cleaned the kitchen pantry and found weevils. Yuk! So, glad to have them gone.

Larry and I went to Saturday night Conference together and got motivated and inspired to continue on and move forward. We also saw a video of Christian and Stephanie Nielson, my nephew and his wife, and how they are accepting their new life and are moving on after the plane crash and terrible burns.

I got a phone call today from Arline Parker,up in Tremonton, Utah.
She and Boyd are some of our dearest friends and it was great to hear her voice today. They were full time missionaries that rented from us and we grew to be very good friends. We are looking forward to visiting them in July.

I love going swimming most every morning at my sister's house. She has salt water treatment without the high chlorine. My son, James, takes care of her pool. It's sparkling clean and I love having that time alone in the early mornings to swim and look up at the sky and meditate. It's such a beautiful world and I love their trees and flowers and gorgeous pool. It's great exercise, especially for the lymph system.

We enjoyed having my brothers and sisters and their spouses over (well many of them) for a barbecue and talking about good times together. What a great family I've been blessed with. For the first time, the chicken was sooo good and tender. We learned how to do it by basting it in oil and vinegar salad dressing and Red Devil Cayenne Pepper Sauce. Yum!! Thanks to the LeSueur's who gave us the recipe.

I survived Girls Camp and had a good time. Actually I had a touch of the flu while there. But, we had fun making bubble gum necklaces, putting on a skit, doing Singing trees, early morning exercises, and having yummy food. I'm so glad I could go this year.

Incredible weekend

I sure love my family and had an incredible Memorial Weekend with them.

Jonathan and Carrie and Christina and Joseph and their kids came down from Utah.

We had all 6 of our kids here. We got pictures at Freestone Park,

went swimming at the Moyers several times, planned our July family reunion up in Utah,

ate lots of meals together, laughed, played, went to the cemetery

to remember our loved ones, and just had a wonderful time together. It feels so good!

Each member of our family is so different and unique and adds their own spice or flavoring.

I'm so glad to be feeling well and be in remission with cancer so that I can enjoy these

special times with each of them.

I want to be around for many years to come...and I will.

Red Roses

It's been a wonderful Mother's Day. Larry got me a beautiful corsage of mixed flowers to wear and my children and their families came over and I ended up with 3 bouquets of red roses. So, I like to think that this year is going to be a beautiful one for me.
I'm so grateful to be a mother and grandmother. I'm grateful for all the mothers in my life...especially my dear angel mother that brought me into this world. She was so patient and caring and was a great example. I don't know how she did it. I'm looking at our dog at this moment who is nursing her 6 puppies and admire her as well. She is so dedicated and is probably worn out as mothers get sometimes. But, she continues on and grooms and feeds them. Chihuahua's usually only have 2-3 puppies, so 6 puppies is a little overwhelming. They are so cute.
James and Julie came over as well and brought their adorable little girl that was born the same day as the puppies. She is a cuddly little thing. I got to hold Maria's handsome little boy, Sam for a short time as well. All the grandkids' are darling. Rebecca lost her other front tooth and looks adorable. We had a little performance where they shared talents. How fun to be a grandmother.

Great News

Happy Easter! It was a wonderful weekend filled with family, food, an easter egg hunt, attending church,and taking care of the puppies. I miss Jonathan and Carrie and Joseph and Christina and their kids. They couldn't come down from Utah this Easter, but we will see them in a couple of weeks.

I met with my oncologist a couple of days ago and he told me the results of my latest Ct/Pet Scan, blood work and heart test. Everything was perfect! There is no sign of cancer or hypermetobolic uptake of any kind.
My Oncologist agrees that my healing was nothing short of a miracle. I'm so grateful for my inspired doctors and great friends and family who have helped to bring this miracle to pass. On this special Easter Day, I think about my Savior, Jesus Christ and how that he is the great healer. Not only is He the great healer, but He is my Redeemer. He made it possible for me to be healed of cancer and also possible for me to return into His presence someday. What a wonderful gift that Heavenly Father gave to each of us, in offering His Only Begotten Son... because of His great love for His children. I trust in God and know that He has a plan for me. He grants us the righteous desires of our hearts and blesses us as we pray and work hard to do our part. God is my personal friend and I love Him dearly.

News

We have a new precious grand-daughter. James and Julie had their first last night, and she is sooo beautiful. Julie had a fairly long labor but did a great job. They are off to a good start and will be amazing parents. James is one proud daddy.

Yesterday, our Chihuahua, named Cookie, had 6 puppies. It was quite the adventure. Sid Curtis and others came over to help. I didn't know all the things involved...like the birthing bed...etc. They are all doing fine and are busy nursing as I type. They are so cute.

Also, yesterday, the young adults sang and performed the "New Song of Zion" in church. That's another story. It went very well and I hope...well I know it will continue to be sung.

This week is filled with doctors appointments and busyness. Life is great!!!!

It's been awhile

Life is wonderful, busy, crazy at times, yet rewarding. It's been so long since I've written. Just wanted to mention a few things that have been going on. Over the last 3 months, Larry and I have been blessed tremendously. We've caught up on bills, etc. After selling my car, we got another one. I really like it. It has a sun roof and it's cute and comfortable. We've been to Utah twice and are going again in a few weeks. Christina and Joseph are moving in a couple of weeks and we want to help them and then also visit Jonathan and Carrie and their family.
Our darling Chihuahua is having puppies any day now and so if anyone wants to buy one for $100 let me know.
I'm going in for a Ct/Pet Scan next week and also to do the gene testing blood work at Sonora Lab. I'm feeling great and love life.

Happy Birthday to Me

Well, tomorrow is my birthday and I will be 55 years old. That sounds like a great age.
Two big handfuls. So, I thought I would list some of my favorite things.....I enjoy
hiking in the desert,taking walks on my golf course, feeding the ducks, walking barefoot in the grass and being outside in the rain. I love children and playing with them, especially having one on one time with them. I love soft rabbits, beautiful rainbows, elderly people, and babies. I enjoy studying the scriptures and listening to the prophet and leaders speak. I love gardening and cooking. I love being alone and just singing and talking to myself. I enjoy playing the piano. I love ballet and dance. Also, it's fun to go out to lunch with my girl friends. I like decorating and making my house pretty. I love my husband and children and sisters and brothers, and my special friends. Oh....and of course....a nice hot bath. Then there's the foot massage....that's nice too. I love birds and listening to them sing. My favorite thing is also praying and feeling close to the Lord and getting guidance and direction in my life. Oh...and I love being inside the temple. Thomas and I went today and the Spirit was so strong. It's truly the house of the Lord. These are some of the things that bring me happiness and joy and are some of my favorite things.

Grandkids

I'm looking forward to watching four of our grandkids for 8 days as their parents go to Spain. What a miracle to be able to do that. My health is wonderful and we will have a great time together. It will be challenging at times but I'm ready for it. Fun fun fun!!!

It's a wonderful responsibility to be a grandmother and I want to have a powerful influence for good in the lives of my posterity. Hopefully Larry and I will be able to share meaningful stories and have memorable experiences with them. They are so cute!!
I'm going to make some plans so that it will be somewhat successful. :D

Sedona

We went to Sedona yesterday to the Film Festival and had a great time. Larry and Thomas and I were invited to be guests at the showing of the Burzynski Movie. It was great! Afterward their was a question and answer time and I got to stand up with the Producer/Director and tell about my cancer story. The people were very intelligent and seeking to be well informed. The director and his wife took us out to dinner and we talked and got to be good friends. They are in their early 30's and have a great mission to perform as they are traveling through out the United States and other countries sharing the message about Dr. Burzynski and his cancer cure. The director, Eric, gave us a free DVD of the movie and I hope that it will be viewed by many people. I am also hoping that Scottsdale or Tempe may have a Film Festival and that the movie can be shown there. I know that Dr. Burzynski is a very inspired man and that many people are and will continue to be helped through his antineoplastins.

Thomas is home!!

I love having our son Thomas home from his mission. It just feels so good to my heart and I love having his fun personality in our home again. He's been playing the piano and does it with such feeling. He gave the CTR ring to Larry (Dad) that all of our sons wore on their missions. Larry now wears it on his finger and is proud to know that it has been worn by his sons who have all served faithful missions for our church. Aaron started it when he passed his ring on to Jonathan and then in turn Jonathan gave it to James and then James gave it to Thomas. I hope that our family can always Choose The Right and remember what the ring stands for.

What a blessing it is to have another darling baby in our family. Larry and I got to go to St. George, Utah to see Tyler Benson, Christina and Joseph's second son. He is so cute and tiny and very good natured. He was born cesarean and Christina isn't suppose to lift for 6 weeks. We had a good visit and got to help some. Larry and I had a great time together driving the long roads and visiting along the way!

These last 5 weeks have been amazing and filled with financial blessings. Our business was suffering and our Bishop gave us very good council and we decided to do exactly what he suggested and it has been very rewarding. I've written done the blessings each week and there are two pages full. Our work with Concrete Made New has picked up and we have work this week and the next and more estimates to do. I know that by following our leaders that we are blessed!

2 more weeks

I'm so excited for our missionary son to come home in 2 more weeks. I remember when he was set apart as a full time missionary and was promised that while he was serving his parents would be blessed with health and prosperity and both his mother and father would be here when he returned. We had no idea at the time that I had cancer. That blessing has literally come to pass. I feel like I have had a ship journey across a wind blown sea. I could not have done this alone. God was at the helm and my wonderful family and friends have all been there for me and with me throughout these 2 past years. I don't know how to express my gratitude to everyone. But, I am grateful, very grateful to all that have prayed for me, helped me financially, and supported me emotionally and spiritually. God has literally been my strength and support. Dr. Burzynski has been the ship or the vehicle of recovery. Thomas has missed the whole thing, but not really. His missionary work is a big part of the miracle. He has helped to pray me better, and the blessing he received prior to leaving has been fulfilled.
I am so excited to see him again and to have him home. I am so grateful to be here and be alive and well!

Going home

My time up in Utah is coming to an end I leave for home in the morning. I've had a great time but truly didn't help out as much as I had expected. I got to teach piano lessons, teach school to Peter, did some dishes and washing...and got to play with the
grandkids. I mostly had fun, while Carrie was unpacking. I realized tonight that being here wasn't for them. It was for me. I
needed to know that they were alright and that the move to Utah was a good one for them. I needed to be with them for a
week just to be reminded and to see for myself what a well functioning family they have. I'm so impressed.
Jonathan and Carrie get up very early and have beautiful music playing. Their kids come down for a nice healthy breakfast
together and then they have family scripture study and sing a hymn by 6 am. Jonathan starts work by 6:30 and the kids start
school at 8:30. There is no fighting among the kids and they truly serve and love one another. I'm just so pleased with the
great job offer that Jonathan received and know that it is a blessing from the Lord. They have a lovely 4 level home and the kids
love the snow. We built a dinky snowman last Monday, but it was fun and the best that we could do...and today, Lily and Emma
made a huge one by rolling the snow balls. It was so fun. It's hard to have Jonathan and Carrie and their family move up here
because we won't see them very much, but I have great peace in my heart knowing that all is well with them and that their
family of 7 is thriving and progressing so well. They are happy and have fun together. They have so much love for each other.
Tonight we celebrated Lily's 9th birthday and each of the kids decorated their own little cake. It's been a great week for me and
now I am ready to go home.

Filming

Larry and I went to the Burzynski Clinic this past week and I am still in remission and doing great.

The plans are to get me off Tykerb in the next month or two,

also to finish up Rituxin by March and then to start going off the Sodium Phenulbuterate and

other medications from the Burzynski Clinic.

While there, I got to share my cancer story and they filmed me down in the garden

area. So, I get to be on the web site. One of my great desires is to help others along their cancer

journeys and help to make it a little easier for them. I am very grateful to Dr. Burzynski and his wonderful staff of doctors,

particularly Dr. Kubove, for all the excellent care they have and are giving to me.

I want everyone that has cancer to know about this alternative treatment plan so

that they can decide for themselves if it is right for them. While there, I met a cute little man who was born in Africa

and his wife. He was diagnosed with breast cancer and had been at the clinic for a couple of weeks.

His brother is a kidney specialist here in the U.S. and he told him about the clinic.

This man had also felt very inspired by the Lord to go to the clinic. I love the

many people that I have been blessed to meet.

After returning home from the clinic, I stayed overnight and then the next day I left for Utah, where I am right now.

I'm helping our son Jonathan and his wife Carrie and their family get settled into their new home in

Clearfield, Utah...near Salt Lake City. We are having a good time and it is very cold.

Tomorrow the kids and I are going to build a snowman with a long carrot nose.

Relections of 2010

I was thinking about some of the wonderful blessings that we received last year and

wanted to mention them. First and foremost is that I was told that I was in

remission. What a blessing. I have the best family and friends and doctors that have

helped me through this journey. God has truly been there for me and taught me so

much. We also had another wonderful miracle. Our lovely daughter, Maria, and her

husband Bryan had another child. Sam was born in October and truly was a miracle

child. Their other child, Tate, is about 6 years older that Sam and he prayed him

here. Tate also prayed for me and gave me money on a regular basis to help with the

cancer. So those are two of the great miracles that we had in our family this last

year. Another blessing is that our daughter Christina and her husband Joseph are

expecting another son in a few weeks, and our son James and Julie also got pregnant

last year and will be having their baby girl in April.

I've got to mention again the unexpected but absolutely wonderful blessing of having

brand new carpeting in our home....given as a Christmas gift from someone who wants to

remain anonymous. I love walking on it and it looks so perfect in our home. I just

think it is beautiful.

We have much to be grateful for. I love life and have great hopes for another

wonderful year! (and it's gonna be a good one!)

Test results

Yes! I got my Pet/Scan results back and they were negative again. Dr. Kubove said to

hold off on the torisel infusions until she speaks to Dr. Burzynski. I'm so blessed.

We had 3 great Christmas parties this weekend. The Manning Party on Saturday where we

had a delicious brunch and Dad gave everyone cute turtle shirts (as he loves

turtles)with a great message on them. The Thomas Family Party was fun and Santa came

and brought bags to all the kids. Our Larry Manning Christmas Dinner was on Sunday

and we opened our gifts to each other. It was wonderful and we just opened all the

gifts at once and didn't open them one by one. I loved it that way. We had a huge

mess but Maria stayed and cleaned it all up. Christina and Joseph came down from Utah

and all of our family was there except Thomas. He will be calling us on Christmas Day

though and I can hardly wait. I'm so glad to have the health this year to keep up

with things and will be eternally grateful to everyone for their prayers and faith

given in my behalf.

I know that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem in a stable many years ago and is the

Saviour of this world. He atoned for our sins and suffered our illnesses and

understands all that we go through. He established His church on this earth and in

these last days has again restored the true church to this earth.

I'm looking forward to Christ's return where He will reign as King of Kings and bring

peace to our troubled world. Merry Christmas!

Hard Day

Today was my weekly infusion with Torisel at the Cancer Clinic and it didn't go well.
I had the top nurse but she couldn't get a vein to put the needle into. The first vein she tried was scarred and wouldn't work, the 2nd, and 3rd tries the veins collapsed. Then another wonderful nurse tried and the same thing happened. I could be dehydrated but I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day so I don't think so. We will try again on Thursday. I remembered that on Monday, when I had blood drawn at Sonora Lab that the blood flow was extremely slow. So, I am downing the liquids.

As many of you know, my carpeting is very very very ancient. It has holes in it and I

try to cover them up. But that's okay. I pray for new carpeting but always say at the

end of the prayer....that it's an extra, but would be nice. Today, I received a phone

call from a worker at Mesa Sales who said that my name was randomly chosen from the

phone book to get new carpeting. I didn't believe it of course...but inside I hoped

it was true. I knew that they didn't have my cell number of which they called me on.

Finally, he told me that the carpeting was paid for by an anonymous person and that he

will be out on Monday to measure the house and bring samples. I started to cry....and

then I couldn't stop. I've cried my makeup off twice. I'm spoiled and loved and God

truly is blessing us.

I just got a new roof that didn't cost us anything and also, my daughter in laws

parents (The Stapley's)are giving us a beautiful organ.

Now I get carpeting! It's coming before

Christmas. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Jonathan and Carrie and their sweet

family. We enjoyed seeing Aaron and Andrea and their kids last night and today as

well. We sure love our family.

It was the off year for Thanksgiving

so next year everyone will be here...even Thomas. He's coming home on Feb. 15th

from his mission in Washington. Again....I just can't

believe the blessings and I know that all blessings ultimately come from God. There

are angels here on earth that are his hands though. I'm thankful for those ministering

angels. Hopefully through the years I will be able to minister to others and bless

many peoples lives.

What a wonderful fundraiser we had. My daughter in law, Andrea, did an outstanding

job of organizing, delegating and carrying out the Spaghetti Dinner/Auction. I had a

great time and enjoyed visiting with friends, family, and meeting new people. There

were so many kind people and businesses that donated items and services to be

auctioned. I really appreciate all the many many hours that went into it. My sister

Mary Nielson and her husband were very kind to open up there home and lovely back yard

for the evening. All my kids helped tremendously and that is one way that I feel of

their love for me.

It is difficult at times to take money from people who are very tight themselves. But,

I know that God blesses people in return for all that they do.

Im a new grandmother again. Maria had little Samuel and he is so cute. He has dark

hair and a lot of it. His temperament is so sweet and easy going. Maria worked so

hard in getting donations...up until he was born and then organized and worked after

wards as well. One of our kids donated an I-pad to the organization "Setting Them

Free" to help further the charitable organization that the funds are channeled

through.

Even though I am in remission with cancer....I have some other health problems right

now. My cholesterol is very high and I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. It runs in

the family. I have a doctors appointment next week to learn what I should do about it.

Life is interesting. But, with challenges you learn what is important in life. It's

about God, family, and blessing the lives of others. It's also about freedom. It's

about listening to the still small voice and following the promptings of the Spirit.

I have a lot to accomplish in this life and have an exciting future. Life is good!

Setting Them Free a non-profit foundation

Since I am now in remission with cancer, Larry and I feel a great need to help other

people who the life saving treatment at the Burzynski Clinic. Because of this,

Larry, and others recently started a non-profit foundation to assist people in

learning how to have effective fundraisers as well as other valuable information. We

have learned so much along the journey and want to share information with others. If

On November 5th, there will be a Spaghetti Dinner and Live auction at Russell and Mary

Nielson's home in Mesa, AZ. All the proceeds will go directly to helping patients at

the Burzynski Clinic. I am one of those patients. Although I am in remission, I

need to stay on the pills longer. You can specify if you want the money to go to the

general fund or to a specific patient.

There are so many people that have been totally cured

of cancer through Dr. Burzynski's antineoplaston's and gene therapy...and there is a

documentary movie that was recently shown in many theaters throughout the country

about Dr. Burzynski and why the FDA has tried to put him out of business but didn't

win. (It was even shown in New York) I have a copy if anyone is interested in

Home from vacation

We had a wonderful time in Florida!!! It was truly a vacation and a great experience.

We enjoyed Disney World with Aaron and Andrea and their family and went to most of the

attractions like Hall of Presidents, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger..Haunted

Mansion...Hollywood Studios...Animal Kingdom...and the EpCot Center. We got pictures

of the Beatles singing in the park and also in France we saw the Sein River. We

really enjoyed eating at the Garden Restaurant where the Disney characters came around

to the tables and gave us one on one attention. The kids loved it. The food was

healthy and super good. Aaron and Andrea really spoiled us.

We also got to visit Elder Ryan Merkley who is serving in Orlando and I gave him a big

hug and embarrassed him probably. He looks good. Also, we got to visit Richard and

Nancy Randall on their mission at the Deseret Ranch. They made a healthy and yummy

lunch for us (lentils, fruit salad, etc.) and gave us a tour of the ranch and visitors

center. They are looking so good and very happy. The ranch covers 290,000 acres of

land and is owned by the church. It's the largest privately owned ranch in the

world. Six deer came close to us to eat the corn thrown to them and we saw a large

turtle walking by as well as cranes. We had a wonderful time.

Andrea's younger sister, Dana Tollefson, works at Disney World and she sang to

us.....she has an amazing voice!!! She made it possible to get some free tickets as

well as discounts. We also really enjoyed the Marriott vacation Resort that we stayed

at. The kids loved the large pirate ship and I enjoyed the jacuzzi. We found an

alligator in the water close to the land with moss all over it and birds standing on

its head and I think it was fake but Larry said the next day it was gone and he claims

it was real. I think I needed this vacation after a year and a half of battling this

cancer. I feel as if the fight with cancer is over but the money for the medications

and the appointments still lingers on. I had the Torisel infusion yesterday at the

cancer center which takes about 3-4 hours and I still do that weekly for 3 months.

Also, in October I do the Rituxen again. (I do that infusion every 6 months for 4

weeks in a row for the next 2 and 1/2 years) Dr. Kellogg is very pleased with the

results and agreed that there is no sign of cancer or of it coming back. My next

appointment in Texas is in early January at the Burzynski clinic. I want to help

others to be healed as I have been. I am truly blessed by so many friends and family

members. I know that the prayers and faith of others have been heard of God and that

He has blessed me. Life is wonderful!

Celebration!

I'M IN REMISSION!!!! So exciting. We went to the Burynski Clinic this last week and it official. The blood work from the Gene Therapy Testing at Sonora lab and the ct/pet scan shows NO SIGN of cancer or of it returning.

This week we're heading off to Disney World to celebrate. It's free. We did a trade at work for the tickets and our son Aaron and his wife Andrea are taking care of the hotel and car and the ticket to Disney World and the Epcot Center. We are going to have sooo much fun!

Last night our family came over and our grandson Tate gave me a cinnamon pencil and some shaped and stretchy arm bands as a gift for getting better. He is so cute and has been there for me all along the way. So many people have helped out with money and have exerted their faith through prayer. Thank you to everyone who has helped me!

I return to the Burzynski Clinic in January after another ct/pet scan and they will let me know from there if they will reduce some more of the medicine. They are always very cautious and keep their patients on medicines for awhile after they are in remission. So, my expenses are still $2,600 a month. My neice, Michelle Moyer is helping me out by donating the money from her 3 songs that she put onto itunes for me. So, please check it out. She has an amazing voice.

Also, in November, our family is holding another dinner/auction to raise money for the cause and also to help people to get good deals on Christmas gifts. If you know of any items that can be donated to auction off let us know. It will be a live auction at my sister, Mary Nielson's home.

New Mexico

The Thomas Family (The family on my side) are having a reunion at the ranch in Blue

water, New Mexico. It's Russell and Mary Nielson's ranch. She's my wonderful

sister. I wasn't sure if we were going to get to go but a check for the gas showed up

at my door and now we are leaving in the morning. It's so nice to have family members

to love and support you when in need. I'm really excited to go and have fun and make

memories with them.

Also, today I received my medicine from the Burzynski Clinic, yeah!!! Just in time. I

really appreciate another family member for paying for them. I know God will bless

them as it was vital for me to continue with this medicine and my care at the clinic.

I'm receiving lots of blessings today. We got an email from our son Thomas in

Washington saying how well he is doing and what a surprise it was to run into his

older brother Aaron at Arby's in Washington. Aaron had a lay over there and was as

surprised as Thomas was to run into him. They got to spend the next day as companions

and had a great visit.

I have 3 grand kids on the way and am so excited and happy to be alive and well and

get to enjoy them. It will make 13 for us. James and Julie came over and set a glass

jar of spagetti sauce on our table. I asked who put it there and went over and picked

it up. It was "Prego" sauce and they had written the words "Julie is" on it. So it

read---Julie is Prego. I said "What? with a weird expression on my face. I was so

excited. When Larry saw it he said "No!" He was also as delighted as me. We were

just so surprised. It was so cute.

I found a wonderful scripture about challenges that I want to share. 2 Corinthians 4:8

"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in

despair." That is exactly how I feel! God is sustaining me and I feel His loving

arms around me every day. I hope that everyone can feel the peace that I have and be

blessed with the things that they need in their lives.

I Guess I cry when I'm happy

The Burzynski Clinic has been very kind to let me receive treatment and medication for

about 9 months without paying them yet. But, the time finely came when they said that

they couldn't do that anymore for me or the other patients. They need their money as

well. I have to pay for their services before they can ship the medicine. So, I have

been very concerned and worried about getting my pills. It costs $2,250 a month. I

ran out of one of them on Thursday and my main pills, Sodium Phenelbruterate, will be

done on Tuesday. We've been trying to get the funds together and still needed

$1,999.63. About 45 minutes ago, a very special person, actually people, put money

into my account so that I can order them on Monday and get them shipped one day mail.

I've cried ever since with joy and gratitude for this very special gift. It's a

sacrifice for them I am sure. Am I worth it? I guess so. I'm thankful for life and

the wonderful people in my life. My God bless them abundantly for their great

goodness to me.

What I do all day

It's 10:00 am and nothing is done. It's crazy. But then, I think about what I have

accomplished and really.....I've done a lot. So, I just thought I would share it.

I've called the Leukemia Lymphoma Society 3 times, trying to get the application taken

care of so that I can get some financial aid. Their fax machine wasn't working so

they are sending it to my daughters fax and she will send it to me, then I will fill

it out and attach the info they need and call my oncologist and see that he does his

paper work as well. I've called the Burzyski Clinic to make sure that they received

the two faxes sent to them regarding a plane flight and hotel. (My cancer friend from

Bosnia told me about two different charitable organizations that assist people in

Texas and I've been completing the paper work for them to get their help) I have

files of information and organizations and just laugh about all the paper work and

phone calls. But, it saves money and it helps me to live and it is truly a blessing.

I'm sitting here smiling and am ready to clean the house finally....until the fax

arrives from Maria.

Life is wonderful and I am looking forward to having our family over this weekend for

dinner and birthday celebrations.

Enduring to the end of cancer

I was diagnosed with cancer (mantle cell non Hodgkin’s lymphoma) on my birthday, in

2009. After being told that if I was to receive the strongest chemo.. in the

hospital.. and bone marrow transplant twice, I would possibly live 3 years. So…. I

decided to go a non traditional, but medical way.

After much prayer, priesthood blessings, and study, I received the witness from the

Lord that I would be healed and was guided to know which doctor to go to. I am now in

partial remission. My oncologist who is working with this doctor in Texas, is amazed

and tells me to continue. It’s a miracle. Every ct/pet scan shows improvement.

But…..its not over yet…..I am still running the race and enduring to the end. Why?

Because I trust the Lord and I believe that He keeps His promises. If I had been told

that it was my time to die…than I would go forward and prepare for the next life.

But, mine wasn’t the case.

It’s been a fighting battle, and very expensive, but it is worth it. The Lord has

literally carried me much of the time and has given me the strength to go on. In one

of the blessings that I received I was told to study my scriptures an hour a day. I

have done that faithfully and kept a scripture journal. Without this, I would have

gotten depressed and probably given up. The scriptures fill me with the Spirit and I

have received hidden treasures of knowledge along the way. Prayer has also been a

great strength as well. Also, going to the temple I have received revelation and

guidance. I know the Lord blesses us as we pursue our personal journeys in life and

claim the great blessings that He has in store for each of us.

White Mountain Trip

Larry and I had sooo much fun last week up in the mountains. We were ready for a nice

break! this is a picture of us relaxing under the apple tree together after eating our

lunch. We enjoyed the rodeo and the Pioneer Parade. We also went to Hawley Lake and

went out on the peninsula and reminisced about our family and how just a few years

ago, they were all with us up there. It was beautiful. We also saw Larry's family's

cabin they they built up in Pinetop Lakeside and enjoyed Rainbow Lake and the memories

that we have there together. Larry got me a pussywillow and I love it. We skipped

rocks and enjoyed the dragonflies and laughed and played. It was so funny sleeping in

the back of the car with the seat down at Wally park (the parking lot at Walmart) We

had towels in the windows to make it dark and private. We looked hilarious and we

didn't care.

Great memories and lots of fun!

Tykerb Medicine Approved

Yes!!! I have been approved to get my $4,000 a month Tykerb medicine FREE. I'm so

blessed and so happy that I am crying. I just have to tell everybody. Hopefully, this

week, I will be approved to get Torisel as well. It's been a lot of paper work, and

phone calling and lots and lots of prayers and faith. I feel very blessed!

In January of this year, I had a very choice experience that was very special to me. Because of

it's sacredness, up to this point I have only shared it with family and very close friends. But now

I am feeling that I should share it on my blog for those that are interested in learning about it.

Last year, I was diagnosed with mantle cell non Hodgkins lymphoma, which is a very serious

cancer. At the same time, I was given some priesthood blessings and told that I would be healed.

I was guided to go to the Burzynski Clinic and miracles occurred in making it possible to get the

treatment needed. I am continuing my treatment and am nearing remission. In one of those

blessings, I was told to study the scriptures at least an hour a day. I have taken that very

seriously and have been feasting upon them and they have blessed my life, increased my faith

and brought much peace. One night in January, of this year, my husband and I drove to

visit his parents. I brought my scriptures and a little silver flashlight so that I could read the

remaining 10 minutes in the car. After visiting with them, we were driving home and although I

wasn't feeling very good at the time, decided to read them anyway. I started with a prayer and

asked what subject I should read. I felt to read about the subject of "song". I was guided to some

verses in the Doctrine and Covenants 84:97-102 and read aloud to my husband as he drove. It

was remarkable to me to discover the words to the new song of Zion that would be sung at

Christ's second coming. I bowed my head and asked God, "what's the tune?" Immediately, a

tune came into my mind and I began to sing the melody out loud. We soon recognized it as

"Come, O Thou King of Kings." Later that evening, before retiring to bed, I sat at the piano to

see how the words would fit the hymn. It was so exciting to me to find that there were four

verses and that the song fit. My husband and I sang together and were so delighted. I again

bowed my head and thanked Heavenly Father and asked, "Why would I receive this special

revelation?" I felt as if God was speaking to my mind and heart the words, "because you asked

and because it it time for it to come forth."

The next morning I prayed again and asked what to do with the song. I felt impressed to give it

to Jared Nielson and that God wanted it performed locally first by the young adults. Jared and I

met that day and he felt it was inspired of God. He said that he would love to do something

with it. With Jared's busy schedule of moving, working, dating, etc, he finally took the time

needed to work on the song this week. (With the help of Larry and Richard, we now have

Sibelius (a music notation program) up and running and attached to our clavinova and

computer)

Jared came over to our home and together we worked on the song. We began and ended with

prayer and invited the Spirit and angels to attend us. Jared inputted the notes through the music

program onto our computer. His many years of music study have prepared him to assist with

not only this song but many others as well. He is certainly a very gifted musician.

Jared and I have both felt the guidance of the Lord.

Much of the inspiration for me has come in the early morning as I have asked of God about how

to fit the words to the tune or about the bass part.

Jared has been inspired as he has sat at the piano and felt prompted how to write the notes

into the hymn to get the timing just right.

Jared said he is planning on writing an arrangement of his own to be performed by the young

adults next spring.

I am so thrilled with the opportunity that I have had to play a small part in

this New Song of Zion.

I bear testimony that Jesus is the Christ and the Redeemer of the world. He lives and will soon

come again to this earth. Now is the time to prepare for His Second Coming and I look forward

to that glorious day!

Dr. Kellog's Report at the Cancer Clinic

Today I went to my oncologist who is working hand in hand with Dr. Burzynski.

It was very enlightening.

First, the pet/ct scan actually did show some improvement. The report reads "There has been

marked interval improvement in the PET-CT funsion study with resolution of hypermetabolic

adenopathy in the mediastinum, axillaas, abdomen, and pelvis. Single mildly prominent right

axillary lymph node is demonstrated showing minimal low level metabolic activity.

Otherwise stable PET_CT fusion exam." In the chest the largest lymph node is 1.2 compared to

1.8 on the prior exam.

So, I am really happy about that. At the Burzynski Clinic they said that the pet/ct scan reading

was pretty much the same as the one in January. I think they were more concerned about the

rise in the her2. (Which is a protein that the cancer over expresses)

But, steps are being taken to lower the her2..... and my medicine is costing twice as much as a

result.

Oh well. Life is worth it and I will live and get all better.

I was pleased that all my blood work came back just right and my organs are functioning well.

Also, my echo cardiogram came back within normal range. (A test that tells how the heart is doing)

But, please continue to keep me in your prayers because I know that God hears and answers the

prayers of the faithful and I need all the prayers that I can get. My nephew Brent Thomas also

needs our prayers as he was diagnosed with breast cancer last week and will be having an

operation this week. He is a wonderful young man and is married and has children. He is the

4th in our family with cancer.

We sure had a nice Father's Day with most of the family here. We also celebrated Larry's

birthday a little early and he got his cheesecake. I enjoyed my blueberry ice-cream from Ocean

Blue (that is made with fructose..that I can have)

I'm enjoying my scripture study, prayer, singing the hymns and meditating. I certainly derive

much strength from doing these things as they bring me closer to the Lord and bring the Spirit

into my life!

Back from the Clinic

I recently returned from the Burzynski Clinic in Houston and have to make changes in my

medications. I found out that the cancer has stayed the same size as the last visit and pt/scan.

So, that wasn't good news. Dr. Burzynski said that they will be increasing the tykerb and

rapimune and that I will be stopping the zolinza medication. In reviewing the gene marker tests,

they determined that the cancer is over expressing her2 and that the levels have increased. The

medicine changes should take care of it. That is why I go in every 3 months...to have the

medicines adjusted and to have the doctors talk with me in detail about my health. So, it was a

good visit. I need to get a echo cardiogram and find out how my heart is doing as well. I feel in

good hands.

The biggest concern is one that I don't need to worry about....MONEY. The tykerb medicine is

the one that we don't get free from the manufacturer, and now I need to double the amount that

I take. So, it cost double the money. But, I know that the Lord will provide and that my job is to

take the pills and not be over concerned about the money or size of the tumors. Actually, the

doctor said that I am looking very good.

At first, after hearing that the tumors hadn't shrunk more, I started to be a little concerned. But,

then I prayed and got the reassurance from the Lord that all will be well and not to worry about

it. I know in my heart that everything will work out. my source of strength and has been with me

throughout this whole cancer adventure. I also know that through trials, great blessings are

received. Everything is going to work out as promised:)

Gene Marker Test

So today I did the gene marker tests at Sonora Lab. They spin the blood on ice and send it to

California....and in about 10 days they will have the results back. Dr. Burzynski will determine if

there are cancer cells left in the body and if so, if they are over expressing proteins. This week is

also my ct/pet scan and then I'm off to the clinic in Houston Texas for an appointment on June

3rd. In the mean time, we are organizing our home and enjoying our lively little chihuahua

named Cookie.

I was actually sick for the last 3 weeks with a sore throat and am finally feeling better.

Lessons I've learned

This past year with cancer has taught me a lot and people have asked

what I have learned.

So, I will share some of the most important things.

First, God lives and loves each of His children regardless our faith, color, or

religion.

I have met or talked with so many cancer patients that come from different faiths,

countries, etc. and they have expressed that they were guided to the Burzynski

Clinic from God. (The clinic where I go for my cancer treatment)

God cares for all of His children. He doesn't just care for those that are members

of our faith. He hears and answers all of their prayers if they ask in faith, believing

that they will receive direction.

Secondly, Faith in God is a real power. Just as magnetism is not seen but you can

feel the effects of it....so faith is not seen but the effects can be felt. Seeing with the

natural eye and hearing with our ears is not a sure way of knowing something. Our

physical bodies are imperfect and can deceive us at times. God uses the Holy Ghost

to speak to our spirits so that we can have a more sure knowledge of truth.

Learning to put our trust in God is what this earth life is all about and when we do

put our trust in God then we are strengthened beyond any earthly ability we may

have. I was told by the best oncologists that there was nothing I could do for this

particular kind of cancer. I had an average of 3 years left to live if I did the

strongest chemo in the hospital and bone marrow transplant twice. No one has

had success with living very long with mantle cell non-hodgkins lymphoma cancer.

I decided to put my trust in God and not in science. God directed me another way

that was not traditional medicine. My oncologist has decided to work hand in hand

with Dr. Burzynski because he knew that he could offer me no hope. I am in

remission and will find out in a few weeks if it is complete remission yet. I have

never doubted that I would get all the way better because God witnessed to my

spirit that I would be healed.

I testify that God lives, He loves all of His children no matter what color and what

circumstance they may be in. I have been blessed with tremendous peace and

strength beyond my own through this cancer experience. I know that Jesus Christ

atoned for our sins and that He is the way back to our Heavenly Father. I also

know by the spirit that Pres. Monson is God's mouthpiece and speaks His words to

us today. Life is wonderful. The Gospel is true. The scriptures bring the Spirit and

have sustained me and have fed my spirit through this whole ordeal. I love to feast

upon them daily. Just as our bodies need nourishment, so do our spirits. I am so

grateful to be a member of God's true church and want everyone to have the

blessings that I enjoy because of it.

Mother's Day

I'm excited to hear from our missionary son, Thomas, today. He will be calling from Washington

this afternoon.

It will be great to hear his voice and to feel of his spirit. Every year, I ask my kids and their

spouses to stand up and sing my favorite hymn to me and I'm looking forward to hearing them

sing it today. It's "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." They are all coming over for dinner today

(all that are in state) My children bring great joy to me as they

follow the Savior and trust in his plan and it brings such peace to my heart and soul. Just like

any other mother, my greatest wish and desire is to know that my family is happy:) and true

happiness comes by following the Gospel Plan of Happiness.

I wish all mothers could feel the peace and joy that I feel today. I love my dear mother and

mother in law who are in heaven and was thinking about what gift to give them even though they

aren't on this earth any longer. Larry and I decided that we would show increased love to one

another this year and serve each other more...that is the gift that our mothers would want.

Love Life

So grateful for life! I remember embroidering a quote for my mother that said "Life is fragile,

handle with prayer". So true!
This has been a busy week with grand kids and the other day I was on the ground with 2 of them and a baby playing with the "marble magic." The thought went through my head how blessed I was, as I kept pulling baby Miriam away from the marbles, to get to enjoy my grand kids and see them grow up.
It's also nice to have more years on earth with Larry and to get to see my kids and their spouse raise families of their own. I know that prayer has truly changed the course of my life.

This weekend Larry and I are getting to see Aaron do the Iron Man! I've proud of him and grateful to get to go to St. George for this event! I'm also so excited for Maria and Bryan as they are expecting another baby!
...and to think that a year ago I was very very sick with this cancer. I'm so f0rtunate to be alive and well and to have this time with my family and friends on earth. I just feel like shouting for joy!!

Family Reunion

Recently our family had a wonderful reunion. We met at my cousin's house where the kids rode

horses, there was a hay ride, food, music, visiting, and good times together.

We planned for the next one to be in 2 years. I get to be in charge of it along with my cousin and her husband from Idaho. We are excited to work together.
I have the best family and they are very supportive and bring lots of sunshine and smiles to my life!
All of my kids and their families were able to come except for Thomas who is in Washington on his mission. Oh...I am super excited for Mother's Day because I get to talk with him on the phone.
A couple of days ago, some people from his mission were down and we had them over for dinner along with Thomas' companions family. It was so fun to get acquainted. Because of the busy life...I have decided that this week I will schedule in a time to relax each day!
It's really nice to feeling so well.

Wish I had money to help people

One of my greatest desires is to help people. People contact me from many different states to

inquire about the Burzynski Clinic. I tell them my miracle story and how I was directed to go to

Dr. Burzynski and how I am in remission.....perhaps complete remission now....I don't know

yet. (But, I know that I will be!) I have been in contact with a young man from Washington state

the last few weeks...he has Lymphoma and is desiring to go to the clinic. His name is Mark. I

wish I could help him financially. But the best I could give him was my testimony of how God

blesses his children and provides a way for them to accomplish what they ask for in faith that is

right. I shared with him the story in the Bible of the 7 loaves and fishes and how that after Jesus

gave thanks for it...the food multiplied and it fed thousands. Giving thanks for what we have has

blessed me so much. I remember one month, my grand children had colored pictures for me for

money and donated it to my cause, other grand children gave pennies, a jar full of money was

delivered to our door....it wasn't near enough...but by giving thanks....somehow it ended up

being enough. Others came by and left money at my door and I was able to pay for the pills. It is

really amazing how it works. One of my favorite scriptures is "And he who receiveth all things

with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him,

even an hundred fold, yea, more." D &C 78:19

God truly loves his children and is the Great Provider.

I Know He Lives!

This year has been incredible. It was exactly one year...tomorrow...that I was diagnosed with

mantle cell non-hodgkins lymphoma. It's been a journey and I have not been alone. God has

carried me and has been with me every step of the way. I have an incredible family and loyal

friends which have been a great support to me. Thank you to all that have contributed money,

offered prayers, and given service. I love each of you. God has provided for my needs and has

inspired great doctors to know what medicines my body needs. I feel great and am well on my

way to complete remission.

This year, my grand daughter, Rebecca and I are in the Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant. It's called

"Jesus The Christ". (www.easterpageant.org)

We are in 4 scenes together. Buyers at the temple-Jesus teaching the multitude and healing

the people--The Triumphal entry--and the finale.

One of my favorite parts is when Jesus heals the sick people. I reach out to Him as if I want

to touch Him and be healed. But...in my heart, I already know that He has touched me and has

healed me. I think in my mind instead...that I just want to thank Him for blessing me.

It's a miracle!

Then towards the end of the pageant when we all sing "I Know He Lives"....

I sing with all my heart...because I know that Christ lives today. I like to share that message.

He continues to speak to His prophets and to heal and bless us.

I invite all that are able to attend the pageant to come and bring your families and friends.

It's a wonderful way to celebrate the life and teachings of Christ! I hope it doesn't rain

because even if it does the show goes on!

I love people

I was just thinking about how much I love people. I love my husband and it was so fun to go

with him to visit our daughter Christina and her husband and baby up in Hurricane Utah this

last weekend. It's hard to have had them move out of state....but it was fun to visit them.

I love my brother Richard. He brings a special warm spirit wherever he is. His love for me and

others truly shows. He's been working on our computer and I love to be around him.

I love to talk to Maria during the day...just chatting about whatever. It was great to go to my

nephew's wedding yesterday and hear Pres. Huber give such wise counsel in the temple. I

enjoyed visiting and meeting new people at the reception. Then a great friend, Arline Parker

called today and scolded me gently for not writing on my blog. I told her that I had totally

forgotten....I guess I have been feeling too good!!! I love her. Then, I discovered a darling note

written by an old friend of mine that said she was thinking of me for no reason. Within the note

was $100 for my pills. God is continuing to pour out the blessings through friends. And.....to

top it off....2 seconds ago...my husband called and said he invited Bryan and Maria and Tate over

for dinner. It's almost 6:00 now....so I better make something besides the beans that I have

cooking in a pot. I love my husband and family and friends. Life is great!

Sunshine

A lady recently wrote about me on her blog and said that I was probably lying about my health

because it couldn't be as good as it sounds. She wondered what reason I had to hope. I wrote

back to her and then I got a phone call from her. We had a very nice conversation and I basically

explained my feelings to her. She has cancer as well and other problems. I have been thinking a

lot about happiness and hope and how that it is a choice. We all have our personal struggles and

I work at being happy just like the rest of the world.

Today, I was singing a hymn about sunshine and it made me realize how important it is to have

it in our hearts. Here are the lyrics.

You can make the pathway bright, Fill the soul with heaven's light, If there's sunshine in your heart;

So.....what is the sunshine that we put into our hearts and how do we get it? It is the Son of god.

I like the words of Peter in 1 Peter 3:8-12.

Basically, he explains how we should be acting if we truly want that sunshine!

(We would strive to be of one mind, have compassion, love others, be courteous, have no guile,

seek to have peace, not return evil for evil, etc.)

Then Peter said that the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto

their prayers. I really like those verses.

I am trying to make a conscious effort each day to have sunshine in my heart and it isn't always

easy. I mess up a lot...and then try again. I am trying to put God at the center of my

life. The scriptures are a great strength and comfort to me as is prayer and service. I love the

hymns and beautiful music. They also give me strength. I try to remember to serve others.

My motto is "Do my best with God's help." So, I am trying to go forward with a smile:) and trust

in the Lord. He is certainly someone that I can trust...and in the process....I find sunshine in my

heart and it brings me happiness!

Coloring For a Cure: Written by Maria (Margaret's daughter)

My mother, Margaret Manning, was diagnosed with MANTLE CELL LYMPHOMA CANCER on her birthday last year (March 20, 2009). She immediately began treatments at the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas. Family, friends, and loved ones donated generously as insurance didn't pay for all of her medications. Currently (February 2010) Margaret is 90-95% well! She is in partial remission but has been advised by Dr. Burzynski to continue her treatment plan until the cancer is completely gone.

In an effort to help raise money for the last few months worth of medication, Margaret's grandson, named Tate, came up with his own plan of how he could help his Grandma. He said, "I have it ALL figured out... I'm going to color pictures from my coloring book and sell them for money!" Later that night, Tate sold his first picture for five dollars... He was ecstatic and determined to continue making a difference. During the last two months, Tate has raised over $100 from selling pictures that he has colored! Tate's idea has gained momentum and now 7 precious children have volunteered to join him in his efforts.

Feelings

Six days ago, my mother in law had a severe stroke and is in a hospice center. It's very difficult

to have her in this condition and it breaks our families hearts. I know that it won't be long and

she will be moving on to the next stage in life....which is to return to our Heavenly home.

Because I know for myself that Heavenly Father lives and that Jesus Christ conquered sin and

death, it makes it easier to deal with death when it comes. I found a very special poem that

touched my heart and I would like to dedicate it to my mother in law at this time.

You are the other Mom
I got the day I wed your son.
And I just want to thank you Mother
For the lovely things you've done.

You are a lovely Mother,
And I am a lucky wife!
I wonder if you know how much
you've added to my life.

You used to pat His little head,
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a "Little Boy."
And gave me then a "Man."

(I love you Mother!)

Then, at the same time, I've been thinking about Thomas, who is serving a full time mission for

the Lord in Washington State. In just two days, it will be a year since he has been out. One

more year left and we will have him home! Yea! Yet, at the same time, we are receiving so

many blessings from his service that I want to have him continue. But most

importantly, he is teaching the gospel to my brothers and sisters in Washington and that makes

me happy. I feel very blessed to have the true gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and to know of

God's plan for me. So, we are planning to send him a special love package for Valentines Day

and for his 1 year mark as well. The main thing he wants is pictures. It's hard for Thomas at

this time to be away from family especially because he loves his grandmother so much. But, he

has a great understanding of God's plan and he will be fine.

I feel so blessed to have a wonderful husband who loves his parents so much. Larry and I have

had some real choice experiences singing hymns to his mother and just being there with her.

Also, Larry has also enjoyed spending time with his Dad and going out to dinner together.

These are hard times and but we will get through them.

Feeling carried

Sometimes I feel that the Lord is carrying me. Actually....all the time. He has blessed us in so

many ways that I just don't have enough fingers and toes to count the blessings on. For

example, he helped us modify our house loan, a bill for $1,000 was just dropped and the

company wrote it off, our dental credit card percentage was dropped 20%...amazing. Our

daughter, Maria, posts our business on Craig's list and we are starting to get a lot more work

because of it! Joseph, our son in law is working for us and doing a great job with bids and we

are starting to see the fruit of his labor. Richard, my brother, is in the middle of creating a new

website for our business and is quite the master mind when it comes to computers. I could just

go on and on and on. I hope that everyone can experience the love and support in their lives

just as I feel love and support from my dear husband, family, friends, and especially the Lord.

God is my best friend and I love Him with all of my heart.

He has made my burdens light and continues to warm my heart and fill my

life with joy!

I'm happy and find so much joy in teaching my grandchildren piano and singing

lessons. They are just so cute and delightful to be around. I think they actually help me to heal

in many ways. Just being around them makes my heart smile!

On a lighter note, last night I dyed my hair a dark brown.

It's been a year since I put any color on it and my doctor said I shouldn't use any chemicals on

my hair but that I could use henna from the health food store. I was skeptical at first

because my sister said that it made her hair turn red. So, I heard that if you add coffee to the

dry henna in the preparation stage instead of water that it helps to eliminate the redness. So,

Larry and I went to MacDonald's and bought coffee. It was so embarrassing. I made sure that

the lady at the window knew what it was for. I stayed up late last night following the

directions exactly. It has to be on the hair for 3 hours. So by 1:30 or 2 pm I had finished. It

was a job...but it turned out! Yea! Hope it lasts a while. I was getting tired of the mousy

grayish brown color. It makes me feel even better to have my hair darker again. Also,

I got a pair of glasses so now I can see better. I'm just feeling like a new person!

Also, I had an appointment with my oncologist, Dr.Kellogg, a couple of days ago and he said

that he also feels that I am in partial remission just as the other doctors had stated.

He said to keep doing what Dr. Burzynski prescribes....because it is working.

He is amazed at the progress and probably quite surprised as well!

Raining blessings from heaven

This week it has rained almost every day....almost continually at times. Just like the rain has

fallen down, money has also been pouring down to help me with my medicine. Last Sunday, a

member of our bishopric came to our home. He gave us an envelope with a note inside that

said, "please give this to Margaret Manning." Inside was $1000 to use towards my

pills. Then each day, others have contributed. A family member brought over $500 this week.

It just made me cry because I knew they needed it. My grandson several times gave me money

that he had earned. Once it was about $4, another time a penny, another time $5.04. A dear

friend sent a lovely note and donated $10. She is so sweet and such an example to me. A grand

daughter brought over money and quietly put it into my pill bank. Grandpa caught her. I am

soooo blessed and Heavenly Father surely hears and is answering our prayers in my behalf. My

prayer is that every one that helps me in any way will be blessed a hundred fold.

Home from Burzynski Clinic

Yesterday we returned home from the Burzynski Clinic in Houston Texas. We had a good trip

and found great results with my health. My daughter Maria and her 5 year old son, Tate, and I

flew out together and stayed at the CandleWood Hotel. Tate was so fun to have along and was

very well behaved. Because of his eagerness to learn and exciting personality, he delighted

everyone we met and added much to our trip. Maria was very helpful as usual and drove the

freeways like a pro. She helped in many ways and was great company.

We met with my 3 doctors in a large consultation room on the 2nd floor. Dr. Burzynski, Dr.

Kubove, and Dr. Weaver were all there together to discuss my health. Basically, my gene

marker test is normal and my Pet/Ct scan results were very good. The skull base and neck is

normal. The chest is continuing to improve. I have one node that is on the right chest area that

is slightly larger than normal but smaller that the last pet scan findings. The abdomen is clear,

the pelvis is as well. Dr. Burzynski said that I am in partial remission. I am 95% better but

must stay on the medications until at least my next 3 month visit. They want to make sure that

the cancer completely leaves and doesn't come back.

Next, we met with the radiologist and he compared several of my ct/pet scans.

It's amazing to see the difference. My body was covered with enlarged active

cancerous glands back in March of 2009, and now 10 months later, I am almost completely

well. What a miracle. Dr. Kline, the radiologist said that about 45%-50% of the patients get all

the way better. I am part of that percentage. Also, my gene marker test came back normal.

Yeah! So, I am doing really good. The Burzynski Clinic is one of my favorite places to be. It is

booming with activity, as they are very busy. People fly in from all over the world and are

getting great results. Most of these people are those that have not been given any hope from

traditional medicine and are given up to die. The feeling in the clinic is one of great hope and

love and the staff is happy, upbeat and very energetic. They are some of the most

knowledgeable doctors and nurses that I have met. So, I enjoyed my visit very much and am

very happy with my progress. I will be staying on the same medicine until told otherwise,

and will continue to follow what the doctor tells me to do. Life is wonderful. God is working a

miracle and I have a big smile on my face!

Recent health update

I am feeling pretty good and am well over the laryngitis and "flu or near walking pneumonia."

I'm so glad! Last week was my 4th Ct/Pet Scan and next week is the trip to Houston, Texas to

see Dr. Burzynski. I'm really looking forward to finding out how my gene marker test was as

well as the Ct/Pet Scan. Just wondering if the medicine will change or what he will say. I'm so

glad that my daughter, Maria is going to go with me as well as her son Tate. He was been

saving money for me all along and it will be a blessing to have him with us. For some reason,

he makes me feel better just to be around him. Maria is wonderful and will be a great help as

usual. Today, I saw my endocrinologist who recently ran some more thyroid tests. I was

officially diagnosed with hypothyroidism (Low thyroid) and will be starting on the medicine in

the morning. So, I should be feeling better in many ways. Hypothyroidism runs in the family,

as I have 2 sisters with it and many other family members as well. I have had many of the

symptoms for some time now but have put it on the back burner since cancer took preference.

I will write more next week and give a thorough update.

End of year

This year has been quite the adventure! I've learned about faith and miracles.

God is certainly mindful of me and of each of His children and He surely keeps

His promises. So, at the beginning of 2009 I wrote down some goals for myself. Some of these

goals were to get new carpeting, to lose weight, and to read a book monthly. But, then in

March, my life took a different course and I had to reevaluate my New Year's Goals.

I no longer cared about carpeting, losing weight or reading a book monthly.

My goal was to get over cancer and to do my part in this miracle that was unfolding.

Some of the things that I have learned are:

That the Lord has a plan for each of us and knows us personally
That He cares about our desires and wants us to SEEK for our righteous desires
That we need the prayers of others and also their faith and help
Friends and family are such a great support
The scriptures are a great source of strength and comfort
The importance of often and fervent prayer
People are so generous with their money
The Lord sure does love His children!
God truly loves to heal and perform miracles!

So, my cancer adventure has been hard, tiring, adventurous, and a great learning experience.

I know that it is not only blessing my life but it is also blessing the lives of many people,

including my husband, my children,their spouses and my grandchildren.

It won't be long and this cancer adventure will soon be coming to a close.

My health is returning and life goes on...

Blessings never cease and 2010 is going to be a great year for the Manning Family!

Feelings of Christmas

I have mixed emotions this holiday season. Christmas was absolutely wonderful! It was great

to have each of our children and their spouses and our grandchildren over and it felt so warm

and wonderful. All except Thomas, who is serving in Washington as a missionary But, he called

and just warmed our hearts even more! I was totally spoiled by everyone and it felt so good.

I'm used to it. ...it's true. Being sick has it's ups and down. One of the downs is that the food

that I serve usually isn't very good. I try to simplify and it's just not the same. Even with lots of

help in the kitchen somehow the homemade cooking is still missing. We had the huge tortillas

and beans and salsa and all the fixings. Many people helped. But, because the tortillas were a

couple of days old... for some reason we couldn't get them soft and they just weren't the best.

Maria worked hard in the kitchen and insisted on me opening her gift early Christmas morning

so as to use it in serving the meal. She said that I would love it. I did! It was a lazy susan with

ceramic gold containers with a center bowl. It was perfect to serve the food on Christmas day

and the food looked beautiful in it! We received special gifts from each of our children as well.

Each of the married children, which is all of them but Thomas, gave a gift to each couple.

James and Julie had brought a homemade bean salsa which was delicious. It was put into 4

different containers and Julie put it into the kitchen. For some reason, I thought it was for the

meal and so I dumped a couple of them into a container into the lazy susan for everyone to

enjoy. James and Julie have only been married since August and it was her first Christmas with

us. She didn't say anything at first....but later James told me that the bean salsa's were

intended to go to the other 4 couples for their gifts. I felt really bad. There were only two left,

so just two of the couples got to have their gifts. Oh well. I wish I could be perfect and not

make mistakes but somehow I just keep making them. James and Julie were nice about it and

overlooked it.

Then Christmas night, Larry got up with cramps in his legs and when he almost fell I braced

him with my body and helped him back onto the bed. In doing so I hurt my left knee. So, I

have a brace on it and it is injured. So, Larry is at church right now, and I am home alone again

with the same old conjestion and the knee problem. But, wonderful news is that my voice came

back and I was able to talk with Thomas on Christmas Day. That was the best Christmas gift

ever!

Oh, and I mustn't forget the very special Christmas Eve that Larry and I experienced. At first, it

wasn't so wonderful....as we were struggling to finish our homemade gifts for our children. We

were saying to ourselves, "how did we ever do it in the past....why are we so slow this

year....and how are we ever going to get all the pages stuffed into these plastic sheets to put into

the books...." When all of a sudden we heard someone knock on the door or ring the doorbell.

Larry went to the door and there was a heavy basket with a pink and white checkered cloth

over it. He brought it in and we looked inside. There was fresh citrus fruit and a big jar filled

with quarters and other coins in it which was labeled "Christmas Jar". Then we opened a gift

that was in the basket and it was a book entitled "Christmas Jars". We had never heard of this

book and thought this was pretty special for someone to think of us. We sat on the couch

together and our hearts melted. Here we were having a hard time and someone was out doing

something so wonderful for us. We wanted to read it Christmas night but were too busy...so we

decided to read it together after Christmas. (We are now about 3/4 through it and are enjoying

it so much together...it's our night time story!) It wasn't but 10 minutes later when there was

another knock at the door. I went to the door and didn't see anyone. Then I looked down and

saw a large container of cashews and 2 bank envelopes stuffed with money. I brought them in

and we sat on the couch together to count the money. We started crying together as we

counted out the 100-crisp dollar bills that someone had so carefully put into the envelopes for

us. People are so kind and thoughtful. It surely made our Christmas so special. Larry and I

worked faster and had renewed energy. By about 2 am we had finished our gifts and crashed!

Late Christmas morning, we were just getting up when the phone rang. Larry saw it was

Washington. He answered the phone and said, "Thomas?" I jumped up and grabbed the other

phone. What a wonderful Christmas morning. He couldn't talk long but wanted to tell us that

he was going to call a couple of hours earlier than expected. Our hearts felt so good and it was

certainly Christmas!

No voice

Today is Sunday, and I had to stay home from church. I've had a bad sore throat and laryngitis.

Not fun! I whisper and ring a bell when I need Larry to help with something. It's so funny!

It's wonderful to have the Priesthood in my home and that Larry could give me a blessing.

I just have to get better so that I can talk to our missionary son, Thomas, when he calls on

Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day...we don't know when he will be calling yet.

Our oldest daughter, Maria, made lunch for us today and it was so delicious.

She made whole wheat spaghetti and a fruit drink with spinach blended up in it.

It doesn't sound very good, but it was the best!

We enjoyed the two family Christmas parties last night. One was for Larry's side of the family

and was held at the church building. We enjoyed a lovely dinner, a great story, message from

Grandpa, and a hayride. The other was for my side of the family and was held at my sisters,

Martha's home. We arrived after dinner, as both parties were on the same evening. But,

we so much enjoyed visiting and hearing the musical performances. It was wonderful!!

Having two parties on one night was a little too much for me and by the end of the evening,

I had lost my voice. But, it was great to see family and just be together.

...Well, Larry is in bed and it is super late... so, I will hurry off to join him soon. He set up a

humidifier next to our bed to add a little moisture to the air and to help with my throat.

That was so nice of him. Larry is really good to me and is constantly serving and helping me

out. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful husband!

I just want to add, what a blessing it is to be alive and to get to enjoy this wonderful Christmas

season with family and friends!

Our Family Party

I'm so excited for our Larry and Margaret Family Party tomorrow. We have a wonderful

tradition every year of going to a nursing home and performing for the elderly people.

Then, afterwards, we all come to our house for pizza and make ginger bread houses! So fun!

We started performing when Aaron and Jonathan were little and have kept it up through the

years. Some people give gifts and money to those in need at Christmas, and that is a great

thing to do, but as we really never had much money to give away, we decided years ago to share

something that we did have....music! It's very rewarding and humbling to go into the nursing

homes and find it a privilege to get to share some of the Christmas Spirit with them.

Although when we leave, we find that they blessed our lives far more than we did theirs.

We visit and hand out candy canes afterwards. It really makes my Christmas

special because, not only do I get to hear my children and grandchildren perform, but get

to see the smiles on the faces of the elderly as well. It's a great tradition and we plan on keeping

this throughout the years. Larry and I are singing a song together and are enjoying practicing

practicing it every morning. Along with the hustle and bustle of Christmas, music

brings that special glow inside. We are going to miss Thomas this year as he is in Washington

serving a mission for our church. Maybe he will find an opportunity to sing for others as well.

Peggy Sue Golf Tournament

Although I missed going the the tournament, I was there in spirit. I so much appreciate all who

gave up their Saturday (and the wife's who gave up their husbands) to golf the 18 holes in my

behalf. The hat's turned out so nice...thanks to Ellen Rogers and her son Jeff. Bryan Stradling

deserves a big hand for all that he did in my behalf. (and Maria as well!) So many people

donated money and time and I don't how to begin to thank everyone.

But, I just couldn't go to bed with out attempting to express my deep appreciation to all that

were involved. It comes down to love. There are so many Christ-like people out there. One

person donated $5. Some $75... others more. Another donated $1,000. All the money

combined sure adds up. Thank you...thank you...thank you....to all of you that helped in any

way. I love you all!

Peace

Throughout this whole cancer experience, I have felt such deep peace. It has sustained me and

given me great comfort. I know what it is like to be held in the Lord's hand and to be blessed

while experiencing a deep trial. He has truly been with me every step of the way and is

continuing to bless my life and to give me strength. This Christmas season I want to testify that

God lives and that He loves each of His children. I know that miracles have not ceased and that

healing continues even in our day. I have such a wonderful husband that is very supportive and

helpful to me. He loves me and that means everything to me. I am blessed with such great

children that have strong faith and are there for me constantly. They, along with so

many others have sacrificed much in order to help me. Thank you to all that pray for me and

give so generously to help me get my pills. May God bless each of you with your needs this

Christmas season. Good news! I made the Easter Pageant along with my granddaughter

Rebecca. So, we will be having a very special experience this spring. It will be wonderful to

participate in testifying of Jesus Christ through music and acting!

Here are a few things I'm grateful for today.

That may kids and family could come over today for Thanksgiving Dinner and that

we had such a great time together

I am thrilled to be alive and getting better.

It's exciting to be a part of a "healing miracle" even though I would rather be the one helping

and praying for someone else. I'm so happy that I am getting better.

I'm thankful for my family. I have wonderful parents, parents in laws, sisters, brothers, in laws,

a great husband and fantastic children and darling grandchildren! So blessed!!

I'm grateful to have a house to live in with good food to eat and clean water to drink.

Also, I'm thankful for a comfortable bed and pillows, and a bathtub with warm water.

I'm thankful for a living prophet to guide us in these perilous days.

I'm very thankful for a loving Heavenly Father and for His plan for his children, for our

Saviour, who personally suffered for me and is making it possible to be healed.

I'm also grateful for our son, Thomas, who is serving a full time mission in Washington State

and for all the missionaries that are serving throughout the world and sharing the gospel of

happiness with my brothers and sisters.

I'm so grateful for the scriptures and for the strength that I get from searching them.

Probably one of the most important gifts that I have is that of the Holy Ghost and I am so

grateful for the peace that is mine even in the midst of trials.

God is holding me close and easing my burdens. He has not forsaken me but has been there for

me every day.

I am sooo grateful for His help and also for everyone that is helping me get well through their

prayers, faith, money, service.....and support!

Life is wonderful and these are just some of the things that I am grateful for today!

Wonderful Son in Law

I just want to say something about Bryan Stradling on this blog. He is really going the extra

mile and serving me, his mother in law, with putting together the Peggy Sue Golf Tournament.

It's true that all the family is helping him, but, it was his idea and he is heading it up. That is

really nice of him and it means a lot to me. I hope that many people support us in this event

and that we can make the money needed for my pills. Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I

appreciate Bryan's love and support.

Yesterday, Larry and I took a walk together with our darling grandson, Craig. We walked to

my sister Mary Nielson's house and had a nice visit and then walked home again. We walked

about 3/4 a mile and I was just fine. So, my energy level is certainly increasing and I am soooo

happy that I'm getting well. Truly, Heavenly Father is watching over me and taking care of my

needs. I have great peace inside.

I just want to share a special experience that happened this morning. A dear

friend called me and said that she was reading her scriptures this morning and

thought of me. So, she called and said that she is concerned about having a big trial in her life

someday and that she wants to be prepared for it. So, she was studying the atonement and is

trying to increase her faith. She asked me how I can remain happy and positive through my

health trial. She realizes that I am getting better and that a miracle is occurring and wanted to

ask about what has given me strength to meet my trial. She is so sweet and it touched me heart

to think that she is trying to prepare now...for the future. Most people don't even think about

trials until one hits them. So we talked and cried together. I told her that I don't have to worry

about things because the Lord told me I would be healed all the way and instructed me where

to go to get the help I needed. I just trust in the Lord and know that He keeps His promises.

At the same time, I am doing the things He asked me to do. I know that it is not occurring just

because of my faith. It is because of the faith of so many. Faith is real and it precedes the

miracle. Then she asked if there was anything else that has blessed my life and gives me

strength, and I told her about D & C 98: 1-3 and how the early saints were being persecuted and

how they were instructed to handle trials. They were given 5 things to do. I learned those

steps when my husband was so sick and now I can apply them to myself and I am... and they

work.

They are to fear not, let your hearts be comforted, rejoice evermore, in everything give thanks,

wait patiently on the Lord for he has heard our prayers....and all things will work out for our

good.

So, life is wonderful and I am again very grateful for the tender mercies that the Lord is

granting to me.

By the way, I just got back from a nice long walk around the neighborhood and to the retention

basin and I feel great!

Recovering

The flu got me. Sunday I was down all day and then Monday as well. It's strange

how you start to feel better and then get sick again. Maria brought us in a delicious

chicken soup...it is the best. I loved it. Also, she made me carob brownies with

whole wheat flour and honey, They are very moist and yummy. Larry just went to

the store for me and I am so taken care of and blessed.

Someone very special gave the money to buy a months supply of my Tykerb

medicine, which took a tremendous amount of stress off of Larry. It was so helpful!!

Also, my son in law, Bryan, is putting together a "Golf Tournament" to raise money

for me. He has put a lot of time and effort into it and it should be very successful. It

will be the first Saturday in December. I hope that anyone who is interested in

golfing or helping in anyway will contact Larry or me or Bryan Stradling. All my

kids are helping out with it. They are calling it "Peggy Sue's Golf Tournament", as it

is my nickname. My real name is Margaret Susan but the popular name of the day

was Peggy Sue. So.....Bryan sometimes calls me by that name. He is so funny. I am

grateful for a very supportive family. They make me smile and feel happy and

loved.

I am looking forward to feeling better from this dreadful flu and then trying out for

the Easter Pageant with my grand-daughter this Friday. Hope we make it!

Grandchildren

It's so much fun to play with and watch my grandchildren. They are the cutest and so

adorable. As Aaron and Andrea are moving, I get to watch some of their children. Rebecca, age

5, brought with her a special envelope which was all sealed up with money inside. On the outside

she had written "Rebecca Disneyland Money". Then she gave it to me for my pills. She said

that she had earned it by doing lots of chores and was saving it for Disney Land... but she

changed her mind. I was so touched.

We emptied it onto the bed and counted out the nickles and dimes and pennies. It was two

dollars and 95 cents. What a sacrifice. It really is special that my grandchildren want to help

me. I know that their money is like the widow's mite and that the Lord recognizes their money

as such. I love being their grandmother.

Blessings from Heaven

As you know, we have been strugling to pay for our expensive pills to keep me alive. But, the

Lord is right there to bless me through so many angels on earth. My brothers and sisters each

contributed and together were able to come up with $1,100, which is very helpful. Then today,

another angel dropped $100 off at my door.

Larry's parents gave us money as well. It's wonderful to know that I am being taken

care of and that somehow the money comes in. Our son in law, Bryan is also

working to put together a golf tournament with pledges, to go towards my medicine. I

know that our loving Heavenly Father watches over us and He hears our heartfelt prayers. So

many people on earth are in tune with the Spirit and are willing to sacrifice for little old me. I

False Alarm!

Sorry about the mix up. Larry King ended up having a substitute and they wanted

to talk about the boy and the big balloon that went up into the sky. So.....the Dr.

Burzynski is suppose to on either tonight or Friday night. Please try to watch it if

you can.

I had a very special blessing occur today. Larry and I have been concerned about

getting more pills for me as it is quite costly. We just don't have the money right

now and needed to order them. After much pleading, the Burzynski Clinic is going

to send us a week supply of the PB (cancer pills) free. Yay! That will give us some

more time. Also, my sister, Mary, said that some of my brothers and sisters gave

her some money last night at her birthday party to give to me. So, I may be able to

by my Tykerb on Wednesday. I know that the Lord is watching over me and our

family. But, please continue to keep me in your prayers and pray that we will be

Exciting News!

Dr. Burzynski will be on the Larry King Live Show (CNN) on Monday,

October 19th at 6 pm. He is going to talk about what they do at the clinic

and why he can help people with cancer. I'm so excited to see the show

and hope that everyone I love can see it too. He's kind of shy but very

intelligent and full of energy. Hope you can watch it.

Cancer Clinic

I am sitting at the computer at the Ironwood Cancer Clinic killing time while the

rituxin finishes through my IV. It is great to have computers down here.

This is the third week of four and then I'm done with this series until April. yay!

The people down here so nice and very humble. but, I am so glad that I am not taking

chemo...because in all honesty...many of them are very sick. But, I always enjoy my visits

with the nurses and the patients around me. It's an experience that I'm glad to have.

It's been a very busy week with lots of activities. The saddest thing is that my brother, Stephen,

passed away. The funeral was wonderful and Mary and the family did an amazing job. but, my

heart hurts for him and I will miss him so much. Other things that happened are we got to enjoy

Jonathan and Carrie's kids for several days while they went on a business trip. All in all it went

well until I either sprained or broke my toe. Fortunately, it happened the evening before they

returned and picked up the kids. But it was really nice having them.

Our pipe broke in the front yard and the water was off....but we got it repaired.

We were able to plant much of our garden with our grand kids help and they

had a lot of fun. Emma was sick most of the time but she felt good about helping to plant a few

flowers in the front yard. Lily was ecstatic that she learned to ride a two wheeler all by herself.

I forgot to mention, the 2 baby blessings went very well on Sunday and now this Sunday, will be

one more. I'm so happy to be alive and not be sick with chemo treatment so that I can enjoy

these special times with my family. Life is wonderful and I am enjoying every moment of it. Got

to go because my IV is done.

Dr. Burzynski

Right now I am in Houston, Texas with Larry. We went to the Burzynski Clinic today and it was so

wonderful. Dr. Burzynski knows exactly what he is doing, and is very detailed with my case. He reveiwed

the Gene Marker test results and the Her2 protein was with- in range. Yeah! I got to meet with 4 doctors today. They are

Dr. Marquee, Dr. Kubove and Dr. Kahn. One is an oncologist, another a regular doctor I believe, and then the radiologist.

I had my list of about 15 questions answered and had my medicine adjusted. Good news, the tykerb has been reduced to

2 a day instead of 3 a day...a savings of about $700.00 a month. The zolinza has been changed as well.

Also, I am to drink 1/2 cup of grapefruit juice with my rapamune to help it work better.

Overall, I am greatly improving and as Dr. Burzynski himself said...he believes by the next appointment

or by February...I may be all better. He is very hopeful. (although I will need to continue with the rituxan every 6 months

for maintenance for 2-3 years...depending on blood results)

It's truly a blessing to be able to experience this miracle in my life. I appreciate all the prayers for me and our family.

Even the guy helping us at the airport asked my name and said that he would pray for me. I started to cry, it was so

embarrassing. Larry and the family very supportive and it sure makes it easier for me.

So, my job is to keep taking the pills and pray that Larry can afford to buy them.

We are being blessed with more work which will help. It also is a great blessing to have our son, Thomas, serving

in the mission field. He is working hard and sending blessings our way.

Houston is very humid. Some of the store windows are covered with moisture. It's 75% humidity. I don't mind it

though. With huge oak trees and New England homes...it's very pretty. We also went to the Houston Temple this

afternoon. The Spirit was strong and more inspiration came to both of us. We are just having a great time together.

Our hotel is very nice with a living room, a king size bed which is very comfortable...etc. etc. It's called the Sheraton and

it's located right in the middle of Houston. We put in a bid to priceline.com and said that we would pay $49.00 a night

they accepted our price. It has a heated pool and a jacuzi, a gym and more. They deliver us the newspaper and

yea....we're spoiled and loving it!

But the most important part of this trip was going to the clinic and getting the care. We spent

about 45 minutes with the radiologist and he showed us the difference in the pet scans. It was quite interesting as he

showed us the cross section of my body and compared the pet scans. Most of the tumors have gotten smaller and the

cancer is less active... or is gone. Everyone that works at the clinic is so upbeat and very professional. It's very impressive

and you just don't want to leave it. We love to be there.

Friday I go to the clinic in Chandler for the rutixin IV and will contine it for the next two Fridays after that.

Oh, and by the way... Dr. Burzynski will be on the Larry King Live Show on CNN on Monday, Oct. 19th. I think at 6 pm.

They are preparing for more patients. They are always very busy but will most likely get a lot busier. Well, Larry

is falling to sleep down here in the lobby and wants me to go up to the hotel room. So...good night!

Pet Scan Results back

Today was my appointment with my oncologist, Dr. Kellogg. He reviewed the

Ct/Pen Scan with me and sure enough I am continually improving. The conclusion

reads: There has been further improvement with decrease in size and decrease in the SUV of

mulitple bilateral axillary, chest wall, pelvic, and inguinal lymph nodes. Several lymph nodes in

the chest have resolved. No new lymph nodes are seen and there is no increase in the maximum

SUV in any of the lymph nodes.

My doctor is very pleased with the results and wants me to continue with what I am doing so

far. I am not all the way healed yet...but am progressing along very well. Monday we will head

off to the Burzynski Clinic and find out more and have the medicine adjusted. So...good news for

Margaret!

I just want to thank each of you for your prayers. It means so much to me to think that faithful

people are asking God to bless me. I believe in miracles and it is by the prayers of many that I

am being healed.

Family Support

I finished taking my 42nd pill for the day and gave myself a big star on top of my

check-off paper....then took a warm shower...and wanted to share my feelings on

my little blog. It's been a wonderful day and it's not over yet. As I am typing, my husband

and children (except Thomas who is serving a mission in Washington) are all together conversing

about ways to raise money for my pills. I wasn't invited. I'm glad. So, they are over at Maria

and Bryan's house brainstorming different ideas for fund raisers. Larry called the family

meeting and they all responded favorably. If I was with them, I would feel so bad and yet very

appreciative as well. I have mixed emotions. I mean, three of them recently had babies, one is

leaving out of town for a week tomorrow, one is moving at the end of the week....one is sick. I

really appreciate their help but they can hardly take care of their own little families. So, it is

better that I am home and where I won't get in the way. (Just kidding)

But, on the other side of the coin ( and I use the word coin, because that is what I am thinking

about right now) it's good to have the family all draw together for a common cause..to help their

mom. It's really a blessing in disguise, because sacrifice brings forth rich blessings. I just know

that the Lord is with our family at this time and that we are all in this together. Larry is doing a

great job with rallying the family together tonight. I love all of them very much. So, it will be a

surprise to see what they all come up with and I'm sure the next few months will be full of

adventures for me, the family and many others that may be involved. Life is great. The miracle

continues. Your prayers are felt and much needed! May the Lord bless everyone who is praying

and helping in anyway.

Gene Marker-Oncogene Tests!

Yesterday, I got my Gene Marker or Oncogene Testing done at Sonora Lab. The

test tubes are now on ice and are on the way to a lab in California where it is done.

Many people want to know more about the clinic and just what Dr. Burzynski

does.....so if you are interested...I have copied a little from "The Townsend

Letter" Aug/Sept. 2008 issue below that is simple and very interesting. Happy

reading!

In the 1960s, Stanislaw Burzynski, MD, PhD, a young physician and researcher in Poland,

discovered novel peptides, or protein fragments, in the blood. Noting that these peptides were

absent in patients who had cancer, he theorized that they must have something to do with the

body's cancer protection system. And indeed they do, for Dr. Burzynski's discovery cuts right to

the heart of both the cause and the cure for cancer.

Cancer cells, whether in the brain, pancreas, lung, breast, or elsewhere, have one thing in

common: undisciplined, uncontrolled division that can destroy tissues around them, metastasize,

and cause death. This is driven by changes in gene expression, chief among them a "silencing" or

"turning off" of tumor suppressor genes, resulting in an increase in oncogene activity that leads

to cancer cell proliferation. If silencing tumor suppressor genes increases oncogene activity and

spurs cancer growth, then the inverse is also true. Turning on tumor suppressor genes and

turning off oncogenes shuts down cancer.

A Real Cancer Cure
This is exactly what the peptides Dr. Burzynski discovered – which he named antineoplastons –

do. Antineoplastons are the body's innate defense system against cancer; they normalize gene

expression and prevent unruly cell division. When these peptides are in short supply, cancer

goes on a cell-division rampage. But when they're abundant, cancer cell proliferation stops, and

cancer goes away. It's that simple.

Antineoplastons explain the inexplicable in cancer. How can a woman have a normal

mammogram with no evidence of tumors, then die nine months later from rapidly growing

breast cancer? Why does another woman with the same type of cancer survive for years, with or

without any treatment? The answer lies in the concentration of antineoplastons circulating in the

patient's body. Those who succumb to cancer are virtually devoid of these peptides, while those

who have them in greater abundance are far more likely to survive.

Dr. Burzynski figured out how to isolate these peptides from blood and urine and eventually how

to synthesize them in a lab and administer them to patients. He first proved the safety of this

therapy. There's no danger of antineoplaston treatment harming healthy tissues because it

doesn't poison or burn cells – it simply gives the body what it needs to stop uncontrolled cell

division. And he has clearly demonstrated its effectiveness in scores of clinical trials and

thousands of patients, many of whom were singing Dr. Burzynski's praises on that special night

in Houston. This is why I consider antineoplastons to be the single-most important breakthrough

in cancer therapy ever and possibly the only one we will ever need. Antineoplastons are to

rapidly growing and universally fatal cancers what penicillin is to pneumonia.

For those of you who have made it to the bottom and have read

this....congratulations! It's really interesting isn't it. So, next week is the 3rd

petscan and then I have an appointment with Dr. Burzynski on Oct. 7th. Larry

and I will be heading off to the Texas clinic again. Miracles never cease!!!

Family Over

Tonight we had our family over. We had a great time! I'm just feeling really good. We

enjoyed having a nice dinner and celebrated 2 birthdays. Busy times....lots of fun! I love life. I

love my family. It's exciting to be alive at this time in history when so much is happening. I'm

learning a lot about faith, hope, and charity. I'm continuing to learn from the scriptures and am

finding hidden treasures. I enjoyed going to the temple on Saturday and am looking forward to

going on Tuesday with Jessika to do Baptisms. Life is busy and I am keeping up with it. Yeah!

God is keeping His promises to me and I know that He will continue. One of the reasons for the

blessings is because of our son Thomas who is serving a full time mission in Washington. It's

true. He is our fourth son to serve and we have always received amazing blessings while our

sons have been serving. So, although we miss him very much and it is a sacrifice for us....it's well

worth it. It's so exciting to know that he is blessing so many people's lives and bringing souls to

Christ. At the same time, I am being healed. I am so tired, so goodnight!

Continued Health

My health is just continuing to improve! It's incredible, but the miracle continues

on. I have the ability to just walk and walk and walk. I hardly get tired

anymore. It used to be that when we went to Sam's Club, I would need to sit in the

electric cart instead of walk. I don't ever do that anymore. It's been a long time.

We have had a wonderful week as we have a young woman named Jessika Brown

that is staying with us until next Wednesday. She was baptized by our son,

Thomas, who is a wonderful missionary serving in Tacoma Washington. Anyway,

she moved down here to Arizona to stay with her aunt in Gilbert. It didn't work

out as planned. So, we are enjoying her this week in our home. She is continuing

to grow in the Gospel and is learning so much everyday. Everyone just loves her.

We will miss her when she leaves to move back to Washington. It's been a great

experience for us. I also enjoyed watching one of my darling grand sons today,

as Christina went grocery shopping. I held him the whole time and rocked him.

So fun! Also, I've been enjoying my niece and nephew this week as well, as my

sister is out of town.

So, it's been a great week. Lots of people at our house and fun times!

Health Blessing

Larry and I just returned from St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. It wasn't for me...we went to

visit my brother Stephen who has been there since August 3rd. He's been sick for a year now

and the doctors are still trying to figure out what is wrong. They know he has lesions in his brain

and are trying to help him with chemo and steriods, etc....etc....etc. So, he has a feeding

tube and he is numb on his left side. He is very sick.

Tonight, we went to visit him and my sister Martha and her husband drove over as well. Also,

our son, Jonathan drove all the way from Queen Creek. But, it was for a very special reason.

Not only did we want to cheer him up and visit with him but it was for the reason of giving

him a healing blessing. He asked if Doug would offer a prayer, which he did, and the Spirit

was very strong. Then Larry anointed his head with oil and Jonathan give the blessing.

He spoke the words that were put into his mouth and it was amazing. It was one of the most

powerful blessings I have ever heard. The Spirit was so strong and we all felt of the love of

God and felt his presence there with us. I remembered the special blessings that were

given to me...blessings of healing.....and I felt the same feelings from the Spirit as I listened

to Stephen's blessing. I testify that God loves us. He knows each one of us and is very aware

of our illnesses and trials. It is through the atonement and faith in Jesus Christ that we are

healed. I am so grateful for the priesthood power that is on the earth today. I know that even

as I am being healed that my brother will be healed as well. What a special experience this

has been for all of us involved. We wept tears of joy!

Enjoying Life

I'm just feeling so good right now....and it's so nice! It's great to have good health

and be able to do the things that I need and want to do. It's such a blessing from

Heavenly Father, to grant me this desire of my heart. I'm just so grateful for his

bounteous blessings in my behalf!

So, if you wonder if God is still a God of Miracles, then look no further. He is

working a magnificent miracle on little old me. It's true! I'm so grateful to be

the recipient of His blessings and hope that everyone receives the righteous

blessings of their hearts as well. Have a wonderful day and week!

Yeah! Christina and Joseph had their big baby boy today! He was taken C-Section. But, I'm

glad he is here safe and sound and that Christina is doing good also. He weighed 9 pounds 5.6

ounces and was 20 inches long. He looks a lot like Joseph. They named him Craig. He was

breech and was stuck in a strange position and the doctors couldn't turn him.

He's so darling or rather handsome and big compared to baby Miriam who was almost

half the size. So now we have our two big boys and our little girl. We call them our triplets as

they were all born within 6 days of each other. We know the hospital pretty well by now.

Tonight we have a couple of Aaron's children spending the night and in the morning we will be

going to watch Aaron participate in a triathalon. So we be leaving by 5:30 am. I better get to

bed. We are really tired. By the way, the tumors in my groin area are truly shrinking... or

disappearing. My energy level is really good as well. All glory be to God... who is performing

one of His mighty miracles. I feel so blessed and extremely grateful for life. I just count my

blessings everyday. Life is wonderful and I love being a wife, mother and grandmother!

On Sunday, Jonathan and Carrie had their darling little baby girl, named Miriam Belle. She was

only 5 pounds 16 ounces. Cutest little thing! I count my blessings that I have had good enough

health to care for their two oldest children...until last night when Carrie was released from the

hospital. Then a few hours later....Aaron and Andrea's baby boy was born. So, this morning,

Maria and I went down to see him (We hardly ever get to see each other anymore as she is

always serving and helping and I've been busy on my end as well) and Christina and Joseph

arrived to perhaps have their baby today. Our little (or big) grandson is very handsome. They

have named him Spencer Don. While we were visiting, Spencer needed to have his diaper

changed. I quickly volunteered and it took three of us to do it. Andrea had to given the

instructions as to where everything was and to make sure we used vaseline on his circumcision

and Maria and I accomplished the task. It was so fun! So.....Grandma days are filled with fun.

I'm enjoying it so much.

A Wonderful Day

It's truly been a wonderful day today!

James mowed the lawn and edged it and it looks beautiful.

Larry made sure the weeds all got pulled out of the garden with a little help. We enjoyed having

Aaron and Andrea's 3 children over this morning and afternoon. We painted, made little cookies

in the easy bake oven and read stories. We just received a call from Jonathan... that Carrie is

needing to go to the hospital... as her contractions aren't stopping. So, Maria is going to take the

two youngest children and we are going to get the older two. So, that will be fun! I love having

the grand children and family around. Maria has been very busy lately with all that she

does to help everyone and we really need her right now as 3 are expecting babies within the

next week or two in our family. (or maybe tonight)Busy times, but we are up to it.

I am so glad that I can take my pills and not be sick.

It seems like it is a full time job to just swallow them at the right times during the day

and make sure I eat food with most of them...and then check them off my list. It's a blessing to

even have them... as they are so expensive. But, they are certainly working! Life is good!

Angels

I have so many wonderful angels that bless my life daily. I want to just name a few of them that

have been there for me today so far.

I got to go to Susan Brown's home this morning and just being with her blesses my life. Her

home is healing as well. Then Sharon Lindblom came by with fresh ripe blackberries that make

the mouth water and a bag full of peaches that are now in a basket on my counter. Larry fixed

my broken dishwasher by taking all the parts out by using a screwdriver and cleaning the

peices. Yeah! Then, Adele LeSueur came to the door with fresh whole wheat bread and

brought a sweet spirit with her as she visited in our home. Larry and I had a scrumptious

sandwich after she left, using the bread...and we needed it, how did she know? (we had also just

run out of fresh fruit) Then, my wonderful sister Helen called and we talked about a lot of things

and she was so caring and concerned about us. It just felt good to be remembered. So, I am so

spoiled again today. Angels are near by on this earth as well as in the spirit world around me. I

feel of God's hand and blessings daily.

Auction in October

I'm wondering if anyone would be interesting in attending an auction to raise money for my

I hate to be so needy but we are also looking to get some tickets to Houston Texas for 2 people at

the end of September. So.....that's what we need. I'm scheduled for another pet scan and Gene

Marker test mid September and need to see Dr. Burzynski at the end of that month. Then in

October I start the rituxin series again (which I need to have every 6 months for 3 years) But

basically, I plan to be a lot better by Spring. What an exciting adventure life is with all its twists

and turns. Life is wonderful...it really is.

Larry and I are cleaning out the garage today and since Larry took a quick trip to DI to drop off

a load of things... I thought it would be nice to take a breather and write on this blog. Last week

was hard and I was kind of sick... but this week is a different story. I'm trying to get our house

in order before the 3 grand kids are born and the holidays arrive. It's great to feel good and be

able to do things. I stay so busy just taking my cute little pills. It's crazy but I honestly take 40

pills a day and they are all spaced out at different times. But they are working... and that is

whats important.

An amazing scripture!

Yesterday I was reading in Psalms 41: 1-3 and I came upon some amazing verses that just got

me so excited. So.....I decided to share them on this blog!

"Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth; and thou

wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of lanquishing; thou wilt make all his bed in his

sickness."

Then in the foot notes it reads "Heal all his infirmities when he is sick."

Aren't those amazing verses? I think how much I want to repay everyone for helping me with

money towards my pills and I just can't pay them back. It's so comforting to know that God will

repay them by healing all their infirmities when they are sick. I love it! What powerful verses

those are. Thank you everyone who is blessing me at this time.

By the way, my PB (cancer) pills arrived today....just in time so that I didn't run out of them. It

feels so good to have a months supply of them again.

A Joyous Week!

This has been a very JOYOUS week. James and Julie are now married and they are just a

darling couple! The reception was beautiful and the Stapley family delighted us all with the

musical band numbers as well as their daughters singing a song. Yes, we are very pleased and

feel that James has married well. Julie also has done well to get James.

Larry was able to make it through the day with his eye. He is starting to be able to see out of the

top of his eye now...which is very exciting. We both had a very busy day yesterday and crashed

last night. We had so much help and support from many friends and family members. The

Stapley Family did a wonderful job with the reception set up as well... and we enjoyed working

with them.

Our daughter in law, Carrie, has been in the hospital for a couple of days and will need to stay

there due to some pregnancy complications, until the baby is born. So, I am playing Mommy to

my grandchildren. Larry and I are enjoying them but they sure keep us busy. Jonathan is

working and taking care of Carrie and seeing the kids when he can. I will be spending the night

in Queen Creek for a week so.. good luck to me. I do love my grand kids and am grateful for the

strength that I have right now. (And may it continue!)

Oh, the best news! Some wonderful and generous person donated $5,000 to my health care!

So, the pressure is off a bit right now. I can order some pills. I am just sitting here smiling:)

It's makes me so happy that Heavenly Father is looking after me! Thank you so much to

whoever donated the money and may God bless you with the righteous desires of your heart. I

am going to sleep peacefully tonight.

Hospitals and surgery

It seems that lots of family members have been sick lately. Larry had his eye surgery this

morning and is home recovering. He has to lay on his left side for 3 days. His retina was

detached and his eye was hemoraging so if it wasn't for excellent skilled surgeons he probably

would have lost his eye sight.

Our daughter Christina and daughter in law Carrie, both were in the hospital this week but

fortunately are doing better. Carrie is suppose to be on bed rest but it's hard for her to stay

down with 4 children and the 5th on it's way soon. Then Joseph, our son in law, was in the

hospital many times this week. They couldn't figure out what the problem was, but have finally

discovered that he has asthma and a few other things wrong as well.

Then we have the wedding in 2 days. So, yeah, we've been busy around here. I'm still on

antibiotics for my sinus infection and have had to go off a couple of my pills for 10 days, but it is

clearing up. We are all starting to breathe easier. (That's suppose to be funny) Maria brought

in a delicious dinner to us of her famous beans, salmon, and tasty cornbread cooked with honey.

She is a sweet heart! I just kind of hung out at the house and my job was to keep Larry laying

down on his side all day. He doesn't enjoy it and tries to get up whenever he can. We will be

seeing the doctor tomorrow but he has to lay down in the car on his left side while we travel to

and from the appointment.

Besides all the health concerns, we have spent some time getting acquainted with a young

woman named Jessika Brown. She was baptized just 2 months ago by our son Elder Manning in

Washington and has moved to Gilbert AZ. Her friends and cousin were also baptized and her

mother will be soon. She's been fun to get to know and is just soaking up the gospel, making

some friends and getting situated in her new area.

So, we are all looking forward to the temple wedding on Friday and the reception of our son

James and his future wife Julie that we love. One thing that I've been learning through the

years is that blessings and trials come hand in hand. It's amazing how many blessings we are

receiving right now and the funny thing is that they often come with trials. I just want to name

some of our blessings that we are in the midst of receiving.

Having a missionary serving in the field who is working very hard and having much success

Larry getting his eye taken care of so he can see well

Having 3 more grand children soon to be born in the next few weeks.

Having more work for our business so that we can pay our bills and hopefully pay for some pills

My infection is clearing up if not gone already

The tumors are shrinking and dying and leaving and yeah! I am getting better...I can feel it!

Our family is getting closer through much service

My faith and the faith of my husband and children and grandchildren is growing stronger daily

I can feel the prayers, love and strength from many loved ones on the other side of the veil

I'm getting a lot out of the scriptures and am finding hidden treasures through my studying

I feel the love and faith of so many friends, and loved ones and I need that!

We learned this month that 10,000 dollars that we had borrowed from a "wonderful secret person or

family"doesn't need to be paid back. They just gave it to us and said that if we are ever able to

donate back to Positive Impact in the future that we could do that.

They already gave 10,000 before to my health care. So....I hope they know

that they are amazing and my life has been rescued. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I've realized that you can't make it alone. It takes the faith and help of others. Thank you to all

that have helped me and are continuing to be there for me. I love you all!

I just feel so blessed and I wish the same for each of you! God is truly a God of miracles!

Life is wonderful and it's great to be feeling so good again! I was just thinking about 3 things that

I love... that all start with a "D", and I've been enjoying them today. They are Dancing

(especially ballet...that I don't even know anything about but dance around the house pretending

to be a 53 year old ballerina) and Decorating (my grown kids think I'm crazy to be

redecorating so often .....but I love it!) and last but not least...Delicious Pies

(Fruit..no sugar) that our kind neighbor brings over occasionally! So...those are the Three D's

that I love! It seems like I appreciate life even more now since it could have been snatched

away from me so easily.

I remember one of my mother's favorite quotes that has taken on much meaning

in my life. It is "Life is fragile...handle with prayer." I've found that to be true!

Doctor's appointments

It's been a great week with lots of activities. We had a bridal shower at my home for Julie,

James' darling fiancee. (With the help of my wonderful sister in laws who brought all the food

and decorations) Also, for the past week, Larry and I have been working hard at bringing over

all the stuff from the apartment side to our side to get it ready for James and Julie to live there.

It's kind of a trick to find places to put everything. James' old room is now the sewing room...

........the storage room....a library full of books...a craft room...full of decorative items....

and all the pictures....and more. Wow! I am a pack rat I guess. We've changed almost

every room around trying to find places for things and then changed pictures on the walls again.

It's crazy, but fun!

We were also privileged to have one of Thomas' converts from Washington visit us. Thomas had

found and baptized a young lady named Jessica Brown just a couple of months ago, and she

ended up moving to Gilbert to live with an aunt. So we got to visit and find out all about Thomas

or "Elder Manning" and how he is doing. It was great to see the fruit of his labors.

Yesterday and today have been full of doctor appointments. I went to the primary care

doctor as well as my oncologist and also had a CT scan. I have a sinus infection and have been

put on antibiotics for 10 days. So....they have taken me off of a couple of medicines temporarily.

Anyway...about the tumors. Dr. Kellogg said that they are continuing to shrink and the largest

one was measuring 2.5 cm at the last visit and now it is 2 cm. I am so blessed to have 5 very

amazing doctors. They are first and foremost..my Heavenly Father, who is in charge of

everything...my primary care doctor and staff who sent me in to get the enlarged gland biopsied,

Dr. Hernandez, the surgeon...he is so inspired and very accurate. Then there is Dr. Kellogg, who

is my oncologist. I must not forget Dr. Burzynski and his wonderful staff who are treating me

with all the medicines that are working to kill this cancer. What a team. It's interesting that all of

my doctors are very close to the Spirit and are prayerful. I feel very blessed. I am just in awe

with the everyday miracles that we are experiencing.

Interesting Experience

This past week, when we were on vacation, we felt the distinct impression that we were going to

be blessed financially to be able to pay for our pills and bills. We were excited when Larry

received a call from a man named Gary just a couple of days ago, who was interested in working

for our company. He told us that he has had years of experience in the floor business doing

commercial jobs. He has a lot of contacts and was looking to partner up with a small business

and help it to grow and earn some money as well. So, Larry and I met with him in our home and

we were very hopeful that this man was sent to us as a means of blessings us financially. We sat

down together and from the very beginning, the Spirit whispered "Do not hire this man." As the

conversation continued, we were more and more impressed with him and his experience. He

told us that he randomly felt that he should call us. Again, the Spirit whispered, "don't hire

him." Then, we felt an over pouring feeling to share the gospel with him. We showed him

Thomas' large temple painting with was hanging on the wall and asked him if he had ever seen

it. He said he hadn't and that he had never heard of the Mormons or the Church of Jesus Christ

of Latter-day Saints. We were very surprized. Words just poured out of our mouths and

together we told him about the great apostasy and the restoration of the gospel, modern day

prophets and temple marriage. We invited him to go to the visitors center where he could feel

greater peace and receive more direction in his life. Then, he opened up to us and told us about

his past and his business breakup with his partner last weekend... and other problems with the

law. We realized that he was suppose to call us, but not to be hired to work for us. I know the

Lord cares about all of his children and desires to bless us with the righteous desires of our

hearts. We will continue to try to do our best and move forward as we anxiously await the

promised financial blessings to be able to pay for our pills and bills.

Wonderful Vacation!

We just returned this afternoon from the White Mountains and we had a wonderful time!

Larry, and I, as well as Christina and Joseph all went up to Show Low and stayed at Brent

Thomas' amazing home. We enjoyed their shower with 5 shower heads.

We loved visiting my cheerful sister Carol, up in St. Johns and enjoyed the family pot luck

lunch under the shady trees,in their front yard. It was fun to see Larry's parents old cabin in

Pine top Lakeside as well as Rainbow Lake, where many family memories were made. We also

went to the Snowflake Temple and it was nice to feel the Lord's Spirit so strong there and

receive very special revelation.

So, now we are home and we have been redecorating and changing things again.

James and Julie are also busy fixing up the apartment, getting it ready for their new life

together. They were so cute tonight as they put up a door and moved around a funny shaped

couch and our old piano and tried to make it look good. They need to get some furniture,

table, etc. We are excited for them and their marriage on Aug. 14th.

So, Larry and I are moving forward. It is my job to remember to take my 40 pills a day at all

the different times on my schedule...it's not easy. We are moving forward with our family

business and know that we will be blessed. Somehow we will prosper financially and will be able

to afford all the expensive and life saving medication.

I must mention that we have the most delicious goat milk in our refrigerator. We are milking the

Clouses nubian goats this week and get to have the milk from them. It is so good and doesn't

taste at all like a goat. Cow's milk is off my diet...but not goats milk. So, I am loving it! We plan

to make ice cream with honey this week. Life is wonderful.., challenging, interesting..and

exciting as we are striving to lean heavily upon the Lord and trusting in His plan for us.

What a week!

Last week, I found a little chihuahua in our front yard. I approached it and it growled at me. It

was very thin, dirty, and looked injured. I gave it some food and water and decided to try to

catch it and look for the owners. My grand daughters and husband helped out. We used the car

and ended up chasing it all over the neighborhood. Larry used a blanket, cornered it

and threw the blanket over him. We put signs up around the neighborhood, well actually, Larry

did. The dog hid behind the toilet in the bathroom. Then the dog got away again while trying to

take him to the bathroom in the yard.

I chased it again in the car with my grand daughters and nearly gave up.

Then we prayed in the car. If God wanted us to catch it then would He please help us. I

opened the side door and it put its paws up. It wasn't long and we had it again. We took care of

it with Syd Curtis' help...bloody paw, diarrhea, it was just a mess. He went to the bathroom

several places in the car. So the week was spent giving it boiled hamburger and rice to control

the diarrhea. We started to fall in love with this cute dog and named it Bambi because it looked

like a deer and was found out in the grass. After about a day, he started letting us hold him and

bathe him and wrap him up in a little blanket. He was so cute, except for his bad breath. He

loved just sitting in my lap. We found the owner just as the dog was getting

better and it was an answer to a girls prayers. The dog belonged to a 13 year old who had

received it on her 6th birthday. She lives at Horne and 8th Avenue which is miles away. The

dog had disappeared from her home 10 days earlier and come to find out she had prayed and

prayed. She was searching with her parents and hadn't given up hope. The dog came to my

yard and her uncle (who lived near by) happened to see the sign and called us. So, we were sad

to see Bambi go but it was all worth it to see him lick the owner's face and be so happy to be

reunited. I found out that I love chihuahuas.

I'm so happy that a loving Heavenly Father heard a young woman's prayers and that I was able

to be a tool in helping this scared little dog get back home.

Dark Skin

I've recently observed that my skin is getting dark and very freckled and with a lot more aged

spots. At first, I thought...oh...old age! But then, I realized that Larry had gotten dark skin when

he was on rapamune medication. (Which is an anti rejection drug) And now, I'm on rapamune,

and double the amount that he was on. So, I have to take extra precautions about being in the

sun and wearing sunscreen. I am now trying to cover the skin as much as possible. It's not only

the dark skin but it also makes me more prone to skin cancer in the future. Larry is no longer

on rapamune because they switched his medicine, but he continues to have skin cancer. So, I am

going to try to stay inside as much as possible and wear that sunscreen!

The last couple of days have been spent with grand kids...teaching them to swim..having an

overnight party...visiting the public library...and visiting my daughters at their houses. It's been

so fun, and honestly, it's been along time since my energy level has been that high. I've been

able to teach in Young Women's for two weeks in a row and then at the Leadership Training

Meeting. I just thank my Heavenly Father, who is pouring out blessings upon me and our

family.

I've been studying about desires lately in the scriptures and have read that the Lord "blesses us

according to our desires." While Satan "binds us according to our desires."

I remember that when I was first diagnosed with this illness, I was praying to have the Lord's

will to be done. I didn't seem to get an answer until I expressed my heartfelt DESIRE to God

that I wanted to live and be healed all the way. Then God granted me the blessing that I would

be healed. I am learning that God blesses us according to our desires. (Of course it must be a

good desire and also God's will) And, I know that God is a keeper of promises!

What an exciting adventure to have so many blessings being poured out upon our family at this

time. We are also being inspired with regards to our "Do it Yourself EZ Epozy Kits." The sale of

these will enable us to pay more money towards our medical bills. I marvel at the ways of the

Lord and how he blesses us according to our desires. We are trying to listen and be more in tune,

so that we can be guided along the way. Another blessing that we are receiving is a big one as

well. During our last trip to Houston, Texas, when we went to the Burzynski Clinic, we took the

time to visit our Mortgage Company that happens to be in the same city. We met with a man

that supposedly had been assigned to our case to help us lower our mortgage payment. We had

tried for 6 months, and were almost 3 months behind in payments. He told us what we needed to

do and we took care of the paper work. A few days ago, he called and said that we had qualified.

Our payments will be lowered to where we should be able to pay them monthly. Our desire has

been to stay here in our home and to continue our business. It's been a good set up with our

business in the backyard with a side gate for entrance. This is another one of those tender

mercies that we are experiencing. We live in troubled times and I am learning to trust in the

Lord and let Him help to carry my burden. I am also learning that He LOVES all of us and truly

desires to bless us according to our needs and desires. It is important to be in tune and to listen

to His direction and the promptings that we receive and then to act upon them. I feel very

grateful to Heavenly Father for his marvelous ways and the miracles that are occurring in our

family.

Home from the Burzynski Clinic

Larry and I returned home today from the Burzynski Clinic in Houston Texas. We were there

for two days. They are really pleased with how I am responding to the medications and how

the tumors are diminishing and disappearing. We got to meet with several doctors, including

Dr. Burzynski. He said that the Gene Marker Test came back and he needed to adjust my

medication. We asked a lot of questions and received many answers. The Medical Director of

Hemato-oncology, from Tokyo Japan was there. He is learning from Dr. Burzynski and will be

using his treatment plan in Japan. Larry and I met with the radiologist who explained to us the

scans on the computer and how to understand them. They say that I have improved over 50%

in the past 3 months and feel very confident that I will completely heal. (Which I know I will!)

Suzanne Somers (in the t.v. sitcom Three's Company) recently interviewed Dr. Burzynski

and is very interested in his alternative cancer treatments and how he discovered

antineoplastons, which target cancer cells, without destroying normal cells. On Oct. 22nd,

Dr. Burzynski will be on the Larry King Show, with Suzanne Somers. So that will be fun

to watch.

It was great to meet new patients at the clinic and get to hear their amazing healing stories...

how they were led to the clinic and how they are improving in health. Dr. Burzynski has treated

more than 8,000 patients from all over the world and is a bright eyed physician and scientist .

He is known as a visionary genius who is saving untold thousands of lives. I feel that Heavenly

Father has inspired him and I am so grateful for his knowledge and wisdom.

Again, thank you to all of you that are helping me to pay for the pills and the medical bills. I

know that they are costly but they are giving me life...and that makes me happy:) I am also

grateful for insurance which is covering much of my expenses. Everyone that I have talk to at

the clinic has been guided there through prayer. (Except one man that told me that

he has known of the clinic for 20 years and always said that if he got cancer, he would go there)

I have learned that Heavenly Father loves all of his children. It doesn't matter what religion

or what race..he hears their heartfelt prayers. All the people that I have spoken with are so

humble and trust in the Lord and have great faith. They cry tears of gratitude for their healing.

There are so many miracles! It's an amazing place and the spirit is so strong there. I just want

to tell everyone about the Burzynski Clinic and how amazing God is in healing me and so many

others as well!
